100% benefits period. Can’t beat that. 401k no match. They hire some really smart people. Office is in good location

401k company is not great. With smart people you get really strong opinions and personalities, can be hard for decisions to get made in that environment. Long time employees hoard information making them indispensable which makes them get away with anything. 5 years in and still in the beginning startup state.

Get to work in the city, and spend some time at L39 - London's premier fin-tech incubator. Get to work with some very intelligent people, others less so. Earnings are pretty good.

More of a routine job than cutting edge analytics. The job can be stressful at times due to deadlines, but otherwise quite casual (as far as banking jobs go).

A lot of a great perks and some very, very smart people. There's a lot of opportunity to learn new things. Nice offices and location -- conveniently located near NYC Penn Station and another in Baltimore's Federal Hill neighborhood. There's an office in San Francisco, but I'm not familiar with it.

Still a small company but growing. There aren't really any cons, right now. Life is good.

Great company, great culture

RedOwl strikes a really good balance of working hard, getting things done, and iterating quickly without overworking its employees. Work-life balance is encouraged and my coworkers have a diversity of skills (not just the technical on-the job variety) that make coming to work a lot of fun. I work with a bunch of talented software engineers every day, they just also happen to be artists, jazz musicians, historians, travelers, and athletes as well.
Management is pretty awesome. They're accessible, hold regular one-on-one check-ins, and invest in the long-term career goals of their employees.

Because we're a startup and are continuing to grow, there can be a lot of change. The workflow and software process can change from one month to the next as there are new hires, client needs, and re-tasking.

Extremely welcoming environment!

I have been working part-time at RedOwl since December of 2014 as an IT Associate. Everyone has been extremely welcoming. The environment is very relaxed. Always a bonus to be right in the heart of Federal Hill where there are great places to eat.

Very team-oriented decision-making process and management structure. All engineering decisions are done transparently and effectively.
Great communication at all levels of the company.
The product is technically interesting, and the most innovative I've ever worked on. Architecture choices are not set in stone, and according to customer use-cases, prioritization and time constraints we consider the best tools and techniques for the job.
The leadership are focused and attentive to industry signals, and are making the engineer's job easier. I feel the company's in good hands, and we'll have ample growth and opportunities, which helps me focus on coding.
Very customer and usability focused UI standards. It's fun to watch the product get slicker, more intuitive and more capable over time, making data science accessible to mere mortals.
Great healthcare benefits.

One-off customer integrations could always benefit from more automation, but as a small company, it's hard to make time for it.
