Don't work there.

I have been there for about a little over a month and will be resigning. The department's manager and director keep screwing with our schedules and say that it is because we are "so short" when we only need a couple more people. Always changing our work days and days off all the time. The manager and director have little to no involvement with the team. The manager is rude to the entire crew and nitpicks at uniform appearance. I wanted this job because I loved working security and I loved the schedule. Three twelves was nice because I wanted to go to school for the four days I was off. Then, they took it away and made it four twelves. Then, I get told to work Thursday to Sunday this past week and then Friday to Monday the following week. This past Monday comes along, and I get rude voice messages to come into work when I was supposed to be off. Very bad prioritizing. I do NOT recommend this department, or job to anyone. The only pro to this place was the crew. The crew were awesome.

Working as a lab assistant was difficult. The lab had little respect in the hospital because of incompetent workers so it made it hard on individuals who did their job well because of constant complaints from doctors and nurses.

Good place to learn

It’s a job
|
Renown offers poor pay for their employees. The pandemic has really shown Renown’s true colors in that they are unwilling to work with their employees who might have been impacted due to the pandemic. You truly feel like you are just your employee number. My direct supervisor and coworkers are absolutely excellent but Renown as an organization is horrid. They provide good medical care but it comes at a cost.

The salary is ok, a lot of other nurses make more but the dept I work in isn't awful in terms of patient load or acuity, so I'm going to stay put. I've gotten a lot of derogatory/hateful comments from coworkers because I'm white/southern, or esp. about whites in general, and I dont feel comfortable reporting it because the company talks about supporting "diversity" all the time and put out a statement seeming to support BLM...that could very well mean HR might see you as the problem if you report poor treatment from "minorities." The doctors are hit/miss in terms of being respectful to nurses and responding to patients needs. Im afraid to report the ones that are disrespectful/non-responsive because when we have in the past, nothing happens, and current dept management seems to be more cozy with drs and hostile to nursing.

Good benefits

Benefits are good. Pay is less than other area hospitals from what I hear. Staff in my department and others are always friendly and helpful. No issues with Management thus far.
