Working with children with special needs and helping them gain life skills and also working with multiple adults in every level of education gave great room to learn how to compromise,respect, listen to ideas ,hear criticism and get help changing it if needed also learning to work as one efficient collaborative team even if people were not in agreement. Watching the children acquire new skills and continuously learning new skills while being able to share in their successes both in school and the community absolutely amazing! Time management also was a huge pro to learn on the job from classes to therapy’s to bathroom challenges and bus schedules.

Short of staff frequently, not being able to use the bathroom sometimes. There were not many cons.

The organization’s middle management are the true and meaningful leaders who work hard to advance the BOCES and the values.
|
Support by the DS that is genuine- not just her patting herself on the back to the board members for visiting buildings and “asking what they need “. She’s more about receiving praise than actually caring about the true meaning of the organization, it’s staff and the children that THEY truly are passionate about.

Teachers and Teaching Assistant's give 200% to their students. Great educator's who really care about their students.

The Teaching Assistants are told they are professionals by Administration, and the job can be extremely demanding and stressful, yet, the administration at Questar III still does not see it befitting for the Teaching Assistants to earn a LIVING WAGE. This company should be ashamed of itself for paying salaries that makes push some of the Assistants eligible to be on food stamps and/or on some kind of government assistance due to not being paid a living wage. Salaries are begin at $16,832 a year and only increase to $26,902 after 15 years of service. Mind you most TA's are mature adults who are very experienced and caring professionals.
