The salary is higher than some comparative positions at local colleges and universities in the market. The health insurance benefits, retirement benefit , and tuition reimbursement are very good. It's a small university so it's possible to actually get to know almost everyone from an Admission Counselor to a Vice President. The university has a very friendly IT department too.

The university is going through some issues due to growth of the student population. The university was also in the process of moving from a location in the city to a location in the suburbs. Thus there has been quite a bit of departmental restructuring. Due to the population growth, it seemed that the university was having some difficulty meeting all departmental needs.

Very stressful environment where administrators are very mean to faculty and staff. No mentoring of new adjunct faculty. Good people are walked out the door routinely. No one feels safe about their job. NCLEX pass rates plummeted! So it’s not even a good school anymore.

Adjunct faculty pay is well below average. It would be ok if people felt supported. Focus should change to being good to your staff and supporting and being kind instead of just getting more students and making more money.

Being a part of helping the students succeed towards their dreams of becoming a nurse. Nice simulation lab that a lot of money was put into.

They seem to keep anyone in leadership for more than a few months to a year at the longest. They have a huge turn around in both only leadership and staff, but cannot seem to explain the reason. Lots of formed clicks that do a lot of back stabbing and lying. Very petty when this is supposed to be people with higher educational degrees setting examples for their students. Faith-based university, but I think some people need to be reevaluated regarding their faith. Lots of fake people that thrive off of power. Pretty sad!

Non nursing administration trying to run a nursing school is not appropriate or effective. High turn over. Good people are secretly and abruptly let go. Very sad. Students are just a number. Turning into a business with increasing numbers of students with little regard for quality of education and lack of clinical partners.
