Words that come to mind: Love. Collaboration. Respect. Humility. Family. Patience. Ambition. Hustle. Authenticity. You feel as though you're on the threshold, ushering in a new future for a channel that has remained stagnant for far too long. Everyone is heard. Everyone contributes. Everyone supports each other in success and failure. Management is so busy, but despite this, takes the time to support and encourage their teams. You feel ownership over your role, you feel enabled. You have the freedom to try things and see what happens. You can see your understanding, skills and capabilities growing as the company grows. Aside from technical skills, they care. They are not about ego and receiving accolades, which is even better. When I see this, I want to pay it forward myself. I can get real feedback (good and bad) from my teammates, and feel like I can grow. I get to work with some cool technology. I feel like I am given trust to make decisions and make an impact. I get to play with office dogs, which helps to de-stress sometimes. Occasionally I do need to spend extra hours, but this is more of an exception than the norm. Typical start-up pace. Regardless of your professional experience, you will learn a lot by working at Retention Science. In fact, you will probably learn more than you have ever anticipated to learn. And the best part, in my opinion, is that you will be doing it with a bunch of smartest, most talented and yet humble people you will meet. There aren't any brogrammers, no 'code ninja's, no passive-aggressive pull request comments. No finger-pointing when things go wrong and no egos to stop good ideas from being implemented. Everyone is really supportive and will often go out of their ways to help each other out. This leads to an almost ideal environment for a motivated and curious person to really make huge strides in their professional development. And once the journey is over, you'll be left not just with an expanded skillset and a satiated sense of accomplishment, but also with a bunch of friends that you'll have no problems calling up in the middle of the night years later and asking to crash on their couch for a couple of days. At least this was the case for me. That said, from talking to former (and current) employees, it does seem that many view "people I work with" as one of their top favorite reasons for working at RS. Obviously, it's not all sunshine and roses. If having perks is important to you, you should be aware that the company does not like spending money on what it considers to be 'fluff'. Of course, how one defines 'fluff' can be very subjective.
