Great company with relaxed yet professional work environment

Everyone was really wonderful to work with. The founder and CEO was always very communicative and understanding. I appreciated the professionalism displayed by the staff. My work was always assigned in a very clear and direct way. I was given many opportunities to grow my technical skills in a supportive environment.
|
Being a small company, staff can be required to take on tasks that might be outside their job description. While I always felt supported, the job could become stressful at times.

I am in my second year of working for Revcaster as a software developer. My first few weeks were extra hectic, mainly due to a bunch of tools I had to learn that I never used before. The good news is that everybody practically held my hands through that difficult period.
The CEO is ever cheerful, which fosters a cohesive work environment. Perhaps his strongest suit is keeping on top of things. Every request to him is carried out quickly. The company is also generous with public holidays. You often hear the rhetorical phrase, "would you rather work, or have the next four days off". Well, we all know the answer to that one.
One of the big attractions for me at Revcaster is the team - an eclectic mix spread all around the country. This is the most engaged group I have worked with so far. Everybody is active and ready to help whenever needed.
The work itself is fast-paced, and multi-tasking in nature. If you have trouble switching tasks, while still diligently keeping track of postponed tasks, then you may find the place rather challenging.
All in all, I find Revcaster to be a fun company to work for.

Telecommuting means no physical interaction. But that is not a reflection on the company itself.

Daniel is a great person for which to work— work-life balance is good and the opportunities to try new technologies and think outside the box to achieve the end are welcomed.

None of which I know. As a freelancer I am typically outside of the day-to-day, but knowing Daniel through work for about two years now, I’d find it hard to believe that the day-to-day isn’t super fun.

I have been employed with Revcaster just over a year and have loved working remotely and having the ability to plan my own day. I consider myself fortunate to work for an organization that is genuinely interested in the personal and professional growth of each employee and offers a wealth of support in all aspects of the "job." The work is challenging and the product itself is something I am proud to represent.

I love that it is a home-based position and offers flexible hours.
There are some pretty amazing benefits with the job that are surprisingly generous for a smaller company such as a 401K plan, dental, vision, life and supplemental insurances, vacation and sick leave, end-of-year bonuses.
Management has always been very understanding and willing to work with me on any challenges I have faced. He has always been incredibly understanding and accommodating to any situation that arises.
There are opportunities for advancement with the company and management rewards and acknowledges our hard work on a regular basis.
There is excellent communication between management and staff, with weekly staff meetings and an open door policy to discuss any issues with management at any time.

Sometimes is gets lonely in my office alone.
It would be nice to see my co-workers face-to-face rather than emails and IMs.

Company has been awesome to work for. I started as a contractor and was brought on as a full time employee. We work with a diverse set of technologies and I'm learning new things every day. Working remotely is the best.

Since we are all remote workers there is no free coffee, endless boring meetings, or that happy fun daily commute in traffic. I really miss those.
