You’d be fortunate, as client, to work with this team. -The company invests a lot in their people and if you’d like a company who puts people first, this is it. You’ll get a ton of training and education that’s principle based and also skill based. -The company has adjusted extremely well to a more remote world -Last but not least, the company is very transparent. If you like working in a place where you know how your directly impacting the company growth, you’ll find that here. Here's some clarification to help:\n\nWe ask our team to plan diligently through our project management system and calendars to help ensure we deliver on-time, every time for clients. It also provides critical visibility into individual availability for team members looking to schedule time.\n\nWe know that growth opportunities haven't been as visible in the past, which is why we've spent a lot of time developing a competency-based management system and growth levels to develop into. We know that those entering into base-level positions have multiple opportunities for advancement and that this is shared with all new employees. As a fast-growing agency, it also means that opportunities arise when we don't expect it, which is great for those flexible in their career growth. It's certainly surprising to see this feedback, knowing you've been shown a clear advancement path.\n\nAs an agency that practices 4DX planning, it is also surprising to hear that metrics are vague because we use a bottom-up process to set company and team-specific goals and every team member contributes and tracks to these metrics weekly. You were included in our annual planning process and all metric development. If you're vague on the metrics, it would be helpful if you would clarify where you're uncertain so we can clarify.\n\nIn short, we're sorry you feel this way and just wanted to provide some clarity to your concerns that you maybe lacked prior to this response. private:revenuerivermarketing https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1576123 Dec 4th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Revenue River Marketing Revenue Technologist Golden, CO Hard work pays off Lots of the reviews here are unfairly negative and I feel the need to speak out as someone who had an incredible experience working for Rev. I came into the company as someone who wanted a change of scenery and the opportunity to grow professionally. Revenue River provides that. The company is gritty, the work is fast-paced and challenging but that is exactly what I wanted. If you want somewhere you put in your 8 hours and be a fly on the wall, this isn't for you. In addition to the technical skills you will learn and opportunity to work on awesome client projects you also get an underlying foundation of how to be an effective leader in an organization. You get a fast paced onboarding to get you up to speed on some really great concepts as well as weekly reviews to better digest what you are learning. This continues every month with an expert facilitator to reinforce and grow these concepts, which is truly amazing. The leadership team is also excellent. They are there because they work hard and have shown to be team players. It might not be traditional on how many of them got to where they are but they thrive as mentors and examples of how to be successful within the agency world. If you are considering working for Rev really think about how you feel during the interview. The style of the company might not be for everyone but if you align and buy in it will pay dividends in your personal and professional growth. Change is hard. For me the biggest con wasn't the change itself but from the attitude of others about the change. I'm not placing the blame on anyone or any team here just stating it was a morale suck for me personally. Lots of the friction mentioned in other reviews come from this. It takes and open mind and the ability to be flexible to not let this distract from your view of the company and your work. The changes come frequently and can be major and although sometimes you may not agree with what is going on, trust Eric and the rest of the team that they are trying new things to be better and grow, and that they are not trying make your life harder. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 3.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 4.0 1576123 Open Keep finding ways to improve. private:revenuerivermarketing https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1576123 Nov 22nd, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Revenue River Marketing Client Services Lakewood, CO Awesome place to work for about 1 year. Tons of opportunity across different industries and tons of different projects you can have a hand in. You will learn a crazy amount while you are here and will be challenged in so many different ways that will help you grow. You will be a far more talented, more experienced, tougher, and thicker-skinned person because you have worked at Rev. You have tons of opportunity to learn and grow here if you have the right mindset and dedication. Lots of autonomy, if you like that. Your coworkers will be some of the coolest and most talented people you've ever worked with. You'll walk in and instantly make friends. Everyone is genuinely so willing to help one another and support each other and the camaraderie is awesome. Upper management is flawed but they genuinely want to help. They're the hardest working people at the agency who have been here the longest. They've been through the ringer at Revenue River, and as a result, care about the company very deeply and will help wherever they can. The CEO can be a really cool guy and great mentor. He's insanely talented, persuasive, and motivating. He is extremely devoted to the agency. He really wants to give everyone opportunity for growth because he cares about his people and wishes so bad that he could give everyone what they want. The company is also growing incredibly fast and produces some awesome work. They restructure a lot, which can be really hard. But the company is going in a great direction, if you want to be a part of it. There are lots of up and downs though, but I believe it's trending upward. Just be ready for the ride! Your first year here will be awesome and full of growth and hope. But I don't see this as a great place to grow your career long-term (most people quit after about 2 years) Management gaslights a lot. Like, you'll bring up a concern or fear, or they'll address some negative Glassdoor reviews in the agency-wide meeting, but basically make every excuse or give any explanation on why it's wrong or invalid. Because of this, it is often too intimidating of an environment to bring up your concerns or critiques. The CEO can be quite emotional. I've witnessed him on multiple occasions reprimand people for asking questions during sales handoff meetings. He says it's because he wants to push you, or saw it as an opportunity for coaching, or wants you to get tougher skin. Which can be valid, but a lot of people disagree with this approach. Knowing his background and what he's been through and what it took for him to get where he is, it makes sense that he wouldn't want to sugar coat anything and be really hard sometimes. His loyal management will say something like, "He only yells at you if he really loves you," or ask that you "extend him some grace" because of the pressure he's under. Within a few months, you'll know who is in the unspoken inner circle is at the top. But to be fair, all companies have that. LOTS of growing pains, but that's to be expected. I don't agree with how they've handled Covid. They don't wear masks at the office, and you can literally see on camera that they're not socially distancing. They cram 10 people into a small conference room/basement with no masks, and they sit next to each other. There are signs on every entrance with all these protocols they are "enforcing" but it's not real. And when people would wear masks at the office, some people will tease you about it. -1.0 NEGATIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 NO_OPINION 5.0 3.0 2.0 4.0 2.0 2.0 2.0 1576123 Open If you see some glassdoor reviews that are negative, or if people are bringing up concerns, just listen. Maybe consider that they're right. You don't have to have an excuse for everything. It's perfectly fine to be vulnerable and say, "you know what, they might be right about that. We're not good at that. We effed up here. That could have been/could be better." private:revenuerivermarketing https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1576123 Nov 19th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Revenue River Marketing Business Development Excellent Opportunity & Culture My experience at Rev Riv is that leadership 100% has your back if you put in the effort. I've learned an incredible amount in a relatively short time primarily through the generosity and direct feedback of others. There aren't theoretical pep talks here, the culture is built through actions that support your team and taking pride in delivering a better service than other agencies. To be clear, I'm very skeptical by nature. Have been burnt by employers in the past who present themselves/company culture a certain way only to find a few weeks into the job the reality being very different. This has not been the case during my employment at Rev Riv. And it's not to say that everything is always smooth and easy - but it's always human, and successful YOY growth is hard work. If you're looking for a place that challenges you to be better as both a person and a professional - you'll have true job satisfaction at Revenue River. Leadership is receptive to you jumping in how you see fit with projects.. its easy to find likeminded people & dedicated, hard working employees work there t.l.d.r, consider going elsewhere if you are looking for a professional workplace where people dont react emotionally to feedback or boundaries and where you are listened to & get paid what you deserve. The c.e.o has a very strong personality so you need to be tough.. Upper leadership is cliquey and they take things personally..... us versus them mentality. Pay is under market value and new titles and raises appear to be based on favoritism or random at best.. underappreciated employees causes a constant churn.. micromanagement up over time & theres a misunderstanding of worklife balance.. You can easily make friends and will not find itchy corporate guidelines here. People do care about each other and they really do try to make it fun. It's up to you to be resourceful and independently advance yourself. Unless you are very early on in your career, you will not find mentorship and likely will have comparable or more experience than most of the leadership team. They're all smart folks, but because it's a collaborative peer environment it means very little career advancement. Prepare for heavy micromanagement (time tracking on top of obsessive calendar checks from peer leadership). Like true marketers, this was spun as a solution to client churn. Consequently, employee churn has been the overwhelming result. There is thoughtful intent in the choice of training that is engrained in the company's values but it has evolved into a very culty-like expectation in culture. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 10.0 3.0 4.0 3.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1576123 Open Transparency is mostly advocated for but if you respectfully approach certain unseasoned members of the leadership team with well intentioned feedback, or if you ever question half-baked policy or process, it is taken VERY personally. It changed a lot the past year. Pros: You can bring your dog in office. You can easily change departments within the agency. They want to grow and expand but have no clue how or what to do. All they know is that they want to expand. They have now a "flat management" structure with "no-managers and no-directors", but still have some at the top, go figure. At least do not expect to get a promotion. Dead end job. Are transparent only when numbers are good. Unlimited PTOs only if you are taking less than 3 weeks, so it's a scam. Workplace intimidation.
