It is easy to get along with a lot of the staff. They had okay benefits and you had unlimited PTO. Management did not watch over your shoulder 24/7 but this also is a con.
My coworkers were amazing and easy to have conversations with. They were always willing to help me as I was always willing to help them.

The training for new hires is not up to par, especially when you are asked to do one job and at the last second are asked to accept another you have never done before. There was no real direction given from management for the position I was in, but later found out the manager over me was in that position because others liked them. Not because they knew the job.
Did not hold suppliers accountable for deadlines. This caused delays in American made products.
The CEO had really high expectations which is not a bad thing. But sometimes the expectations were unattainable.
There were a lot of late nights at the office and sometimes even at home without ever receiving a thank you.
Lastly there was a lack of communications between departments. Service and warranty and the purchasing department seemed to never be on the same page. This was at no fault to the purchasing guy or the manager of S&W, but more of a lack of communication from the management team as to what to have on hand for the abundance of issues that happened with the American made products.

Try to help your team out. Sometimes if they are underperforming it is because of the lack of support and training.
Sometimes your employees are helping in other areas you do not know about to try a and get the job done.
Instead of criticizing and telling employees they are underperforming, ask them what can be useful to help them and the company move in a better direction.

Where do I begin? Lets start at the beginning. This place was a fun family company up until the move in 2016. Brought in a bunch of inexperienced over paid egotistical communist people to run the departments. Every manager watches their staff work their tooshies off only to take credit for their work. If you are not sucking up to the managers or people in charge, you are considered expendable. No real loyalty. They say work hard play hard...apparently playing hard includes drinking on the job at 3pm in the afternoon. Also includes sexual harassment on a daily basis of which complaints were made and filed to only be ignored by their so called HR staff. If you work in the Buffalo office, you are considered the red headed step child of the company. MI is considered the golden child. While smiling they lie right to your face. Question everything that comes out of anyone who has some sort of Executive position as most will smile and lie right to your face. I could go on but I think you get the point!

Lack of management, sometimes a good thing because you can pretty much do whatever you want and you’re not watched like a hawk

People get fired for no reason left and right (really, we come into a new email every day saying so and so has been fired). Lack of management. The CEO doesn’t care about anything going on beneath him. Cliquey. No structure. Always having questions with no one there to answer them, but you get in trouble if something is done wrong. Management sits around and gossips all day instead of helping
