Bad work culture
|
The company does not shy away on events and fun activities. A lot of traveling, even if not necessary, quite often gets approved. Some people at work are some of the nicest ones I've met.
However, there is extremely bad culture due to the unhealthy amount of directors. There are more and more directors being hired, which results in a lot of showing off of opinions rather than actual work being done. It also often results in grid locks in decision making and sometimes them considering to know stuff better than you do just because of their title.
Many levels of management make sure the complaints of the little guy are not being heard. Mid-management rarely complains to the directors because they don't want to upset them and miss out on a future promotion.
Training budget is 500$ a year, which probably buys you a Spanish class if you are lucky. I was not able to use that allowance because it is so little.
Tragically outdated technology and employee skills. Technical leadership is non existent. This is recently starting to change, but the legacy and negligence of the past years will cost the company a lot of money in the future.
You are expected to overwork yourself! So depending on the season, working yourself during weekends and nights is normal.
