They have prepared the office well for COVID, letting people work from home as needed. The technology is great! I am enamored by the team environments. People really want to help each other. I have not met anyone that isn't committed to achieving their person and professional goals. I like the flex PTO COVID is a con. The high you experience at the beginning of your employment dies around the 3 month mark. If you are looking for a People first mentality from leadership, this is not the place. They care about the customer, the developers and a few others who have learned to fall in line and play the game. It's very much a you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours workplace. I appreciate you taking the time to provide it, even though this one in particular is very harsh. I am also very sorry that you walked away with these feelings about RP. It was frankly very surprising to read your comments. You know I always have an open door policy, so I wonder why you did not pull me aside to share some of these frustrations and given me a chance to address them. I am committed to building a great team and continuing to make RP a better place to work.\n\nYou recognize that we care a lot about our customers -- thank you for that. I strongly believe that if we do not take care of our people, we are not taking care of our customers, so your comments are very disturbing to say the least.\n\nWe have a high-performing team and we are disrupting an industry, which is not easy. We work in a fast-paced environment and our business is quickly evolving, which may be challenging for some. We always strive to live our values and treat every person fairly and with respect. private:revolutionpartsinc. https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1264077 Oct 1st, 2019 12:00AM Open Open RevolutionParts Software Engineer Phoenix, AZ Overall positive, some growing pains Software-centered company. Medium sized startup environment with the combo of relative stability and the opportunity to get creative and own your role. Self sustaining business. Flexible WFH policies. Pleasant colleagues. Software developers were finally moved to their own shared open office separate from the other teams phone calls/noise. Around a half dozen senior software engineers left in the same 6 month time period. Leadership tried lots of different team organizations and “agile” strategies that sometimes felt like throwing spaghetti and seeing what sticks. Morale was kinda low due to stress/being stretched thin, although management was working on addressing these issues (but see spaghetti comment). “Core values” were fairly typical Silicon Valley-type fluffy language; nothing objectionable nor revolutionary. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 3.0 4.0 4.0 3.0 4.0 4.0 3.0 1264077 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 0.0 Apr 12th, 2021 09:08PM Apr 12th, 2021 09:08PM RevolutionParts, Inc. When you first start you get that excitement that you are working for a start up, but quickly wears off No opportunity to move up in the company, They have a harsh claw-back policy so expect money to be taken out of your checks. Most of the people I started with are no longer there. It's a non authentic culture. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 5.0 2.0 3.0 3.0 2.0 1.0 2.0 1264077 Open The CEO's perception of you, is his reality. So in that vein, thank you for sharing yours. But, wow, this stung. In inviting new folks to join us, we always strive to make sure that we share the great things, what we excel at, and also where we have gaps and opportunities to improve. \n\nThe truth is what you said about the excitement of being part of a start-up is true, but it is a double-edged sword in that change is part of the deal too. You do bring up some good points that I would like to address. \n\n1) As our company has grown and our offerings evolved, we've had to make adjustments to the way we go to market. In 2019, we made some big changes that required adjustments and innovation from every team and I take responsibility for the fact that we did not execute well on some of these changes. But, we have learned a lot from that experience. Based on the feedback, we listen, we care and we will continue to make adjustments. I'm excited to say, we are already seeing positive momentum and results!\n\n2) I hear what you are saying about the progression path for the sales team, and I know as we are growing, the opportunities for teammates who are aligned with our values and mission will continue to present themselves. I know this will expand a lot this year as our product platform and offerings expand, and I am excited to promote from within as mutually beneficial opportunities arise. \n\n3) As for clawbacks; this is part of our sales compensation plan, which is documented and shared with every sales teammate who joins us. These do not happen often. In SaaS, retention is as important as the initial sale...we have to earn the business and keep the business to balance the customer acquisition cost. This is common practice when you're paying the full commission upfront. We are always evaluating our compensation and commission plans to make sure we are competitive in the marketplace and following best practices.\n\nI will take this feedback, though tough to hear and use it to get better. And I truly hope that your time with RP, though not what you expected, you can use to shape you on your journey moving forward.", "responseOriginal": null, "countNotHelpful": 0}] REGULAR No No 2.0 Apr 12th, 2021 09:08PM Apr 12th, 2021 09:08PM RevolutionParts, Inc. private:revolutionpartsinc. https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1264077 Jun 7th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open RevolutionParts Software Engineer, R&D Phoenix, AZ Complete misunderstanding of the difference between agile and a lack of process You will be tested to your breaking point - some people thrive in that environment. They don't seem to understand the difference between a lack of process and being agile. There's limited understanding that being agile sometimes means being a little late on deadlines. They expect all of their engineers to be rockstars. That's fine for a little while, if the pay is good enough, but it doesn't scale - especially if the pay is not good enough. They don't seem to care about diversity in any meaningful way. Don't get me wrong, they're happy to just accept anyone at their merits. I never got the sense that they wouldn't give everyone the same fair chance, but I never got the sense that they cared about ensuring that their team was not homogenous. It felt like they would prefer an echo chamber over even the mildest dissenting voices. -1.0 NEGATIVE 1.0 POSITIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 8.0 1.0 2.0 2.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1264077 Open 0.0 [{"countHelpful": 0, "languageId": "eng", "userJobTitle": "VP, People and Culture", "__typename": "EmployerResponse", "originalLanguageId": null, "id": 2174485, "responseDateTime": "2019-06-19T12:40:41.253", "translationMethod": null, "response": "Thank you for your feedback. Finding the balance in a start-up between the innovation and excitement that comes with trying to do something that has not been done before and creating structure to thrive in the ambiguity is a constant opportunity that we will continue to challenge ourselves to get better and better at.
