Very flexible, self-set schedule, little or no oversight from management, can pretty much do whatever you want as long as you keep the families happy and the students' scores up, good benefits.

Do NOT be fooled by the high hourly pay. I've gotten 4 raises and been promoted since starting here four years ago, am making $30/hr, and only made 24k in 2020 and 25k in 2019. In order to receive benefits, you must set 35 hours of availability, and 28 of those hours have to be in Prime Time slots (nights and weekends). As such, you have no opportunity for a social life in those times. While the availability part wouldn't be a problem by itself, they do not staff you anywhere close to all of those times. Some days you may be working a full 12 hours straight, some days you may have only one or two sessions, and there's no way to predict this farther out than a week. However, the sessions can be scheduled as little as 24 hours before they occur, so you have no opportunity to plan anything around you schedule because you have to keep those times open, and the way the blocks are structured you may only work 5 hours that day, but be at your desk or housebound for 10 (sessions interspersed with 30 min or 1 hour breaks due to lack of sessions). I was easily tied to my desk or house for upwards of 60 hours a week on average, but have never made more than 25k a year my entire time here. The hours over the summer can be so light, I usually apply for food stamps during those times just to get by. If the insurance and work from home aspect weren't what I needed right now I would have left years ago. And they're putting a huge emphasis on hiring more tutors now rather than keeping old ones, so I'm getting less and less hours as the months drag on, and less support from sales and management.
Oh, and the cherry on top? They charge the families upwards of $150+ an HOUR for the services they're only paying me $30 an hour for.

Either pay us more so I don't have to go on FOOD STAMPS just to keep my healthcare, or fill our hours so we can actually be making a solid 50k a year like the wages you pay us make it seem you should.

|
The company culture and management is terrible. Turnover is extremely high. Expectations are often out of reach. There is favoritism and very little appreciation for a job well done.

They manage using fear and intimidation. New people get the garbage leads and high quotas impossible to meet and generally don’t make it past 90 days. You will be expected to be available nights, weekends for long hours to meet your quota. My manager had a high quota and mostly gave me old dead leads under the guise of training. The compensation plan suddenly changed so it felt like an unstable company.
