The products are cutting edge in the payment/travel space. You get to work with super smart people from all over the world. No one is breathing down your neck--the leadership trusts you to get your work done and do it well. That said, you do need to be prepared to work really hard.
There is a start-up feel and more work than people, so you can jump in lots of places if you're interested. In sum, intellectually rigorous, cool people, and great vision.

Third party dependencies can be frustrating when you're eager to move a product to market.
I've seen some less than stellar people get disgruntled and leave, but really there's been very little turnover in last two years.

Was sad when I left
|

Had a lot of respect for the management and worked with some very talented and motivated people. Learned a good amount about the payments industry. I thought John Mitchell did a good job when he was CEO. It was, however, a good experience to work there.
|
Thought that the company needed a bit more focus. Some initiatives never panned out. Thought that a number of talented people weren't listened to and some BSers had too much pull with management.

I have been working in Rev for 6 months and so far it has been an intense, exhilarating and educational ride. I am surrounded by really smart, passionate, motivated people and together I feel like we are all in one boat with one mission to make this company great. Our growth potential is incredible and everyday we are breaking new boundaries. From a technical perspective, we have a very cool product but its really at its infant state, so with a proven economic model, a platform that stands behind it and an infinite amount of development potential going forward, boredom or indifference is not an option. It has all the ingredients for passionate work and financial prosperity so right now, there is no other company in the tech industry I would rather be.

The Far West area in Austin for me is not the most convenient location.

The company has a great multicurrency payment platform that has been proven in many countries around the world. Rev also has a large customer base and premier partners. The team gets along well and there is a positive environment with good opportunities for cross-training and professional development. It's a very dynamic environment.

Expect more uncertainty than in a large, well-established company. You have to jump in and take the initiative--there is little hand holding. The fintech space is ever evolving and Rev is in start-up mode.
