This Place Is A Mess

This place is a mess. The only positives are the free coffee and snacks. But really those are only there to prevent you from taking a lunch or going to get coffee during the day.
|
This place is a terrible place to work. As others mentioned, it has a start up feel, however they've been around for 20 plus years and still haven't gotten their stuff together.
The managment team squabbles amongst themselves and they all treat their employees terrible.
This place has far from a professional environment, with lots of profanity and disrespect among employees and managers. The reviews posted about continued development and coaching are overstated and exaggerated. I wouldn't get your hopes up on mentoring or even respect from managers.
There is no work life balance unless you're related to the owner.

Don't Be Fooled By the Recent Management Postings
|

Don't be fooled by the recent positive reviews posted by the current management. This place is a toxic place to work.
If you wanted to be treated poorly, belittled on a daily basis while ownership continues to turn a blind eye then you should pursue a career here. But be warned, unless your chummy with the managers, you will not receive the mentoring and opportunities for additional learning posted below.
The pay is decent but you will be expected to work long ours and harassed if you have a reason to leave.

Terrible personal treatment of employees.
Ownership doesn't seem to care about how the staff is treated.
Long hours with little reward, quite the opposite, with harassment if you try to have any 'work life balance'
Flat organization. If you're looking to climb the corporate latter you won't have an opportunity here.
Don't believe the this place is great posts that have recently popped up. They've been posting positive reviews using a variety of emails for years and bragging about it.

Open, Fun, And Pretty Darn Good

From my time there, it seemed like everything I hoped for in a software company. The people I worked with were awesome and were willing to help those who wanted a career there. Everyone seemed very passionate, it was a fun working experience, there were tons of random perks and there were always other fun things going on. I would definitely recommend this company to just about anyone.

I would consider most cons under the "growing pains" category. The only other thing is that there's a lot going on, and achieving work/life balance is challenging. You feel the pressure as well - not directly, but everyone around you is motivated, and hardworking. Benefits and stock options are okay, could be better.
