not very sincere
|
i was hired as a valet when i needed the money. However my time here did not last very long. The job is pretty simple you come in at 7pm, scan your laundry bags wash & fold, dry cleaning. you are assigned a route in a specific neighborhood in the city where you deliver, collect & scan laundry. You come back & load out no later than 10:30pm. Unfortunately i made the mistake where i mismatched some bags & delivered to the wrong person along the route twice in a week. Management took notice of this & held it against me very seriously. i was then put on a final warning & removed from the schedule. Consequently i was no longer requested for anymore shifts and was let go.

Company does not care about employees.

I started working as a valet when I had no other employment and was able to move up into the warehouse within a couple of months and was very excited to start and grow with the company. Little did i know at the time that everything that was being told to me by city managers were lies.
I was told that I would have 3 month reviews for my first year where there were promotions and raises at each level. I had my first 3 month review and was given a small raise and a promotion to a floor lead and had nothing else until my 1 year mark where I had to tell them that I was way overdue for a review of any kind.
From the start, there was little actual training and everyone had a different way to do different tasks. I decided to take it upon myself to help create a training manual or quick help guide since their "RinseWiki" had nothing for protocols even though management continuously told associates to consult the Wiki for advise. After management told me it was a good idea and backed it, they basically threw away my work until I went to quit when they decided it was a good idea to have this for associates and wanted the updated version.
The entire culture is based on "embracing change" which at Rinse, translates to "let us make these changes, not tell anyone about them, and then write up associates for not using the new process". They work associates to the bone and "encourage" taking mental health days if needed but do not provide the benefits necessary to combat the level of stress that exists in this job that should be a simple task.
Most associates do not last past the 3 month mark before quitting from seeing through managements lies. They keep promoting that they company is doing great and just needs that last bit of fundraising to be able to expand into new cities despite laying off over 2 dozen people (and forcing their tasks onto floor associates without additional compensation).
The city manager will frequently state that he is looking for people to take on extra tasks and prove that they are able to be promoted but then pass over them time and time again and wonder why they are no longer enthusiastic to be at work, even going as far as to make 3/4 year associates reapply for their own jobs.
While the people I worked with were ultimately great people, the job killed any enthusiasm I had there. This company is on its way out and I feel will be shut down completely within a year. There is a lot to be said about "the customer is always right" but a company that caters to ONLY the customer and does not invest in its employees says a lot more.

Highly Recommend. Good benefits, great culture. Pay isn't very much, though. 15.25 is a dollar above minimum wage, for a company that size, and I think given the responsibilities you have you deserve more.

RInse, a lesson in how not to patronize employees

When I joined Rinse, the over-all climate in the office was jovial and very fun.
For the first two months I had absolutely no issues with anyone as there were no problems in my average work day.
Two months in they laid off 22 people and put the fear of god in you if you worked overtime without permission.
My job "Bay Area Field Operations Associate" was to conduct mobile warehouse operations in redwood city and return at the end of the day to San Francisco. However, it was near impossible to be done with all the required tasks by 12:30 am as the amount of work required 10 hour days and was squeezed into 8 hour days.
I was told that only my direct supervisor could say if I was allowed to work over time, however there was a 7x7 manager that would routinely berate me remotely or while she was staying late and essentially force me to stay until 3am multiple times.
This company has major issues in management and they do not like when you provide feedback.
