I will stop myself from writing a novel about how much I appreciate the culture of this company and instead list my favorite things about working at Riskalyze: the transparency and approachability of the CEO, the company values that are actually lived out and enable me to do my best work, the appreciation that I feel for the work I do, the benefits offered (including a stellar maternity/paternity leave), quarterly reviews to make sure we're always on the same page about performance and goals, a straightforward bonus structure, and finally the work itself, which offers new and creative problems to solve regularly. I have no cons but will share what some others previously on my team have found to be a con—if you are looking for a place to simply collect a paycheck and not care about what you do, it's not the place for you. I've seen a couple of teammates leave because this was their approach to work. Not only is Riskalyze a great product that is changing the way advisors talk about risk with their clients but there is a great team behind it as well. Leadership will do everything and anything they can to make sure that you are successful in all of your endeavors. True teamwork mentality with positive vibes that make showing up to work each day easy, no matter what office that may be to! Bigger and even better things to come! Definitely have to be willing to keep up and work hard. Through the tough times of COVID our CEO and leadership team have listened to their teams, been transparent on company status, and have been able to ensure we have focus on what we need to do to succeed. It has been great working with teams on the day to day challenges of creating software, updating process, and being able to have a voice in our success. Pros: Teams are very collaborative High potential for product growth Ability to have a lot of autonomy and ownership in your work I share the feelings mentioned in some of the past reviews that if a candidate does not want to own their work and just be a cog in the machine this might not be the place for you. We take a lot of pride in making sure we are delivering the right tools and features for our customers so we expect everyone to voice how we can be better. We are definitely making the right moves and putting processes in place to make cross department collaboration better. Our high ownership team members are very important and provide feedback to make this process better. Work hard play hard environment. The executive and leadership team is so involved and willing to help in every way possible. Literally the founders will stop everything to help or jump on a call. Everyone is truly passionate and looks out for the integrity of the product and the company. You are not just a number you are truly apart of the Riskalyze family. I would say if you don't enjoy a fast-paced go-getter type of role/environment this might not be the best fit. I've experienced a great work-life balance at Riskalyze. I've never felt pressured to be "online" or available outside of my regular work hours or do extra work outside of the workday. I've personally worked with some awesome teammates and other employees from various departments. The environment feels really healthy and positive. I feel like they offer really good benefits when it comes to paid time off, company holidays, maternity/paternity leave, etc., plus a good bonus opportunity for eligible employees. Snacks are provided several days a week in the office, plus stocked fridges with drinks. :) While there's good team collaboration, a lot of the primary work I've done is self-directed (which works well for me), so that would be a negative for someone who isn't strong at working independently or managing their time. As a startup in the financial technology arena, there have been some growing pains when it comes to creating and hiring the right teams. But I think they may be hitting their stride in terms of not over-hiring. Excessive cronyism in the Auburn office. Excessive micromanagement. Excessive middle management. There's no reason that any of it was needed at the time. The Atlanta office was always looked at as the second-best stepchild. Most of the really good reviews on Glassdoor are from Auburn employees. There was little to no real, actual leadership in the Atlanta office when I was employed at Riskalyze. Only one DevOps Engineer - and they're in Auburn, CA. This was brought up many times. If something hits the fan at 9am Atlanta time, be prepared to wait until 11am when DevOps gets to the office to resolve the issue. Extreme stress & extreme deadlines. Countless times I worked until 10pm or later to satisfy some ridiculous deadline. There's nothing agile about this. Many of them left to do bigger and better things and I’ll retain those relationships for the rest of my life. Your sales compensation and quota will change every 3 months. When the company can’t hit its arbitrary targets you’ll have your comp altered and it’s going to happen very regularly. Fighting for your own compensation may cost you your job, unless you know your manager from the last company you were both at together. Underperformers that know management will be offered opportunities over high performers. Cronyism at its finest. Claims of a open and direct communication style, but in practice there is a LOT of retaliation. That culture of retaliation comes all the way down from the CEO. Values are for the wall rather than practice, so sexual misconduct will get a blind eye from management. Many employees relish posting on Glassdoor, because it’s one of the only places you can be honest without being censored. If you’re a salesperson reading this you can do a lot better than a 1-5% commission. And just know that even if you are offered more, they’re going to change your comp and quota in 3 months anyways.
