Very toxic workplace

Do not be fooled by all the positive reviews here, they are probably written by the same person.
The company is run by a few old timers who are very against change. They will try and control every thing and end up not doing anything well. The managements is name sake only and is in place to execute instructions from these old timers. The only way to get ahead in this place is to treat the old timers like celebrities which they clearly not.
The company claims to have unlimited PTO but hardly anyone ever takes time off.
Anyone who tries to raise questions with the old timers is considered to be an outsider.
Compensation is probably the worst in the industry.
Overall, if you like working at a toxic workplace with poor pay and bad work culture, this is the place for you. If you want to have a life and get an offer from this company, run in the opposite direction as fast as you can.

* CEO is a great person, very approachable and always has a smile on his face.
* Some very smart people in engineering.
* People are generally passionate about the company and the product.

* Not a very good engineering culture. Have a mentality of building half backed products and releasing them to production with the expectation to fix them during support, that leads to lots of on-call issue and a very bad work life balance.
* No 401K match.
* Strike price on options is too high.

My Second Family

I have been here for about 4 years and love the RiskIQ family. The people that work here are intelligent, considerate and very down to earth. It is definitely a place I love to come to every Monday. The SF office is beautiful and comfortable. The potential of this company is also inspiring.

The only con I have is that sometime there is not a ton of direction provided by the top management but that is very quickly changing and improving. I would like to see our offices moving toward a reduction in waste, which is also in the works!

- Strong engineering culture, engineers are siloed off into working only on their own part of the application and get to reach across to other areas often
- Great management, probably some of the best I've ever worked for. They care about the fact that they have manager in their title and work to really manage the team but also grow their people
- unlimited PTO
- can bring in pets
- Get to learn a great deal from people who have been working in the industry for a very long time

- not as young of a startup as others so some of the drive seems to not be there
- not enough happy hours
- company held events really don't attract many different people, usually always the same people
