Fun, stimulating workplace but very long hours
|
I learned XBRL notation at this company, and it was one of the most interesting jobs I had ever experienced. The workplace environment was fast-paced, and everyone know how to make it fun too. This was important because there could be very long hours on occasion, as quarter and year-end financials would need to be publicly posted. I left because the company was understandable turning to computer-driven XBRL notation, and there was no other place for me in the company. Approximately 250 other XBRL accountants were laid off at the same time. Changes in the industry were responsible for this, and we were all treated well when we left. I would not hesitate to work there again, or to recommend the company as a great employer.

Rivet was a startup that never really got off the ground and establish financial stability. Outside ownership interest ended up pulling the plug on the operation and sold the software products to a different company. Everyone lost their jobs and stock options in the final shutdown.
