Fast Paced Yet Easy Going place to work
|
Work is pretty constant at RKON. I have yet to have a "slow" day. This is both good and bad of course. For the most part the people that work here are great and the actual work varies from day to day so it's always a little different.
Best part of working here: The people are definitely what keeps me going here. This is a family. We all come together to provide excellent service both internally to other departments and externally to our customers.
The hardest part of the job is to stop working...I struggle with a work life balance because I am a completionist and like I mentioned the work is constant. I can always find something that needs to be done.
Management is available to everyone at anytime, but are not very hands on with the details and minutia of the day to day. They trust their employees to get the job done and to get it done properly. I would not work here if we were micromanaged.
The keg and wine are available to the employees, but in all the years I have worked here - I only had a drink 4 or 5 times. I have never felt pressured to drink here nor have I witnessed any abuse of this perk. Mostly folks grab a drink near the end of the day or on Fridays and connect with coworkers about the events of the day or week, challenges they are encountering or triumphs they are experiencing.

Great Culture and Work Environment

I've worked at RKON for almost two years and I've had a great experience so far. The company culture is laid back, collaborative and if you work hard you'll be rewarded for it. The office has a start up feel and is continuing to grow, so there will be growing pains here and there.
Management has an open door policy and really listens to their employees questions or concerns to continuously improve processes.
If you're willing to work hard and a do it yourself kind of person you'll fit in great at RKON.

I started at RKON about a year ago and the staff here is VERY knowledgeable in the services offered by RKON. In my short time here I managed to learn more from my peers than in any other scenario I have been involved in pertaining to computer engineering.
What really impresses me is the ability of the individuals working here to explain complex ideas/procedures encountered during the day in a way which anyone can clearly understand everything about the issue. This played a huge role in my training and enabled me to focus on the more tedious details of engineering, as well as empowering me to provide the same level of service to our customers! As a team we manage the workloads pretty well, and time to time we get overwhelmed with the amount of work that comes in at once. Due to the great synergy here, this seldom remains an issue as we are all able to come together and collaborate successfully on priority issues that come in.

I've worked at this place for several years now and RKON definitely has a positive and unique office culture. I've made many friends here and the experiences here will affect me for the rest of my life.
The work can definitely be demanding, as we work with many customers who expect the best, but the team here is excellent at collaboration and working together to find solutions to every-day IT problems we encounter.
With how the company is growing, there is always room for advancement - especially if you're the type of person who likes to take on new tasks and expand your IT knowledge through research and certifications.
