The workforce reduction in December 2019 was one of the most unethical things I've ever seen. To fire 13 employees a couple weeks before their bonuses were due so that partners could make more money is just appalling. 0.0 [{"countHelpful": 0, "languageId": "eng", "userJobTitle": null, "__typename": "EmployerResponse", "originalLanguageId": null, "id": 3037182, "responseDateTime": "2021-02-19T13:01:24.857", "translationMethod": null, "response": "I regret that you left RMB with this perception, even though it is not supported by facts. private:rmbcapital-3 https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=688731 Apr 17th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open RMB Capital Inconsistant work environment They hire people freshly out of college into entry level admin positions (through hiring company, though). Good for people wanting to get into finance industry without much experience. Low salary compared to other firms. Very little pay raise. Promised profit sharing, received none. A lot of gossip within the office, which causes conflict between departments. Some advisors have a big head, which results in poor management. You'll be fine there if you plan on staying in an entry level position for 5+ years. -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 0.0 NO_OPINION 6.0 2.0 3.0 2.0 2.0 3.0 2.0 688731 Open Treat all employees with value and respect, regardless of their position/time at firm. Upper management can do a better job watching/training advisors to treat their team/admin with more respect. Was very often left feeling belittled and undervalued. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 0.0 Apr 13th, 2021 08:41PM Apr 13th, 2021 08:41PM RMB Capital Financial Services
private:rmbcapital-3 https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=688731 Oct 7th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open RMB Capital Full Time Employee Chicago, IL Intimidating, Insecure Environment Interns write the best reviews because their experience is better than that of true employees, Some good leaders if they stay at the firm, HR team is strong but should have more decision authority to act on employees behalf, Fun social events, Casual Fridays, Good Maternity Leave Policy. Negative Leaders (some not all), Gossip, Unequal Pay as people in the same role will vary greatly in salary, Everyone now gets a corporate title so it loses value (ex. VPs), the culture once was fun and high energy but the firm has changed and employees are insecure and less motivated. Advisor pay is confusing. Access to CEO is minimal if at all. Some people are in positions that they do not understand and are not skilled enough to handle. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 5.0 2.0 3.0 2.0 1.0 3.0 2.0 688731 Open Pay attention to all team members, not just those that get picked out and praised for some reason. Listen to employees. It is hard to be seen if you are not "popular" and feels like you don't get a fair chance to make it. Don't make exceptions for people who are not doing what is best for the company. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 4.0 Apr 13th, 2021 08:41PM Apr 13th, 2021 08:41PM RMB Capital Financial Services

private:rmbcapital-3 https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=688731 Feb 24th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open RMB Capital Chicago, IL RMB Capital Management is approachable and truly cares about every individual at the company. This is a rarity that I have not experienced at other employers. The culture is very friendly and everyone understands that there is life outside of work. Again, something that is hard to come by. Free beverages every day, social outings and a great holiday party each year are also great. RMB doesn't expect for everyone to be in the office 24/7. The firms that pay the highest typically expect you to be in the office longer than 8-530 every day. The work life balance, ability to learn and grow with a very successful and growing company should be the reason you come and work at RMB. Management gives people the benefit of the doubt too much. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 2.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 688731 Open Management is transparent and truly cares about everyone in the company. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 0.0 Apr 13th, 2021 08:41PM Apr 13th, 2021 08:41PM RMB Capital Financial Services
private:rmbcapital-3 https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=688731 Feb 6th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open RMB Capital Chicago, IL RMB CARES Clear commitment to doing the right thing for clients. Capable and caring leadership with a long-term vision for the firm, including career opportunities for individual employees. Ongoing investment in culture (understanding that happy employees do better work) through fun activities, a welcoming atmosphere, open communication, lots of collaboration, etc. -- feels like family. Just like family, it's not always perfect. Of course there are challenges with any job/company, especially in an industry that is so tied to market cycles. But more than anywhere I've worked before, there's a sense of resilience and humility from management -- they admit fallibility but focus on moving on and learning how to do better. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 1.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 688731 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 9.0 Apr 13th, 2021 08:41PM Apr 13th, 2021 08:41PM RMB Capital Financial Services
