Great people. Lacking Vision & Organization
Flexible, easy, social, with many great qualities and opportunities to belong.
Lack of vision, process, and insight makes for sloppy work and a messy process.

Fun place to work in your 20s
RN was one of the most fun places I've worked. I was assigned very little work as an intern, and was instead encouraged to come up with my own contributions. This can be a pro or a con, depending on what kind of person you are.
I did not get the sense that interns contributed meaningfully to the company, but were rather just being tested out for "culture fit" in regards to hiring positions down the line.

Great company for early career or impact-seeker
Generous time off, especially around holidays. Lots of intention put towards team-building activities (staff retreat in the mountains, casual full-staff meetings on Friday, etc). Management tries to foster a family environment of teamwork and acceptance. You aren't just a cog in the wheel - your work directly impacts the performance of the company.
Small company, so cliques inevitably exist. Sometimes the "Kool-Aid" feels forced and over-the-top. Understaffed and underpaid for the area. Lack of transparency about financial performance leads to some distrust/contempt.

None. They've taken this company from the basement of a house to an employer of dozens of people, weathered significant storms to the operating model, and have cultivated a very unique culture that they fight not to disrupt. More pay and career opportunities would be nice, but for the right person, at the right point in his/her life, it's a great place to be.

A Conflicting Tenure
Amazing culture! I loved every minute of my time here in terms of culture. I was free to treat the office as my home, which for me is very helpful with my work ethic. Every holiday seemed to be celebrated, the people were great to work with and there wasn't too much of title-throwing around. My favorite thing about the culture was going on Retreat every winter. It's a great mix of business to understand the companies goals and pleasure where you can really get to know your teammates. This place is great if you're young and starting your career.
While the culture is amazing, it is immensely negated by the business side. The company has not been tech-first since its inception and, in recent years, have been diving into executing more tech-driven projects. There are a lot of from-the-gut decisions being made and it is hindering the potential of what the company can actually achieve. Projects are pushed to be finished with unreasonable timelines and no data to back up the "why" of it all. Fast deadlines are not a problem but forcing a mansion to be built with the same timeline as a two-bedroom apartment can be reckless and causes the quality of the products to be mediocre. With that, unfortunately raising the issues through the proper channels don't seem to do anything, even with the open culture. That isn't to say the managers don't understand, but there are powers at play that choose not to dig into the real issues.

Plan tech projects better by coming up with the idea, doing sufficient research to back up the "why", talk with the people on the floor building the product to understand the true nature and timeline of the ideas, listen to those responses, then pitch it to partners.
Give your company time to understand itself and its goals, clearly. The train has been moving too fast for too long. Allow it to slow down and correct itself so you can ensure great progress in becoming a household name.
Don't allow the company to build the house in an unreasonable timeline when the company has to live in it. In the end, the company will suffer because of the corners that have to be cut to "finish" projects.

great co-workers, bad management, few opportunities to move up
co-workers are amazing, do activities outside of work and support you in your outside interests.
-they pay poorly/way below the average, but make exceptions for some 'higher up' positions, creating a feeling of inequity.
-very little opportunities for career advancement. they hire outside people instead of promoting from within
-don't value their employees, so turn over rate is pretty high
-lots of people have been there for years and never got promoted/barely got raises
-management is a cluster. the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. they don't have channels of feedback from employees, so upper management is oblivious to the very serious problems with communication and process.
-they try to replace reasonable pay with 'culture activities' like ping pong etc.

Good People Doing Great Work
Love the value of knowing that my work will positively help impact the lives of young people.
Roadtrip Nation has the nicest people that I have ever worked with. People here are genuine and really care about how your day is going.
Love the leadership here, they really put a lot of thought and effort in the people that work here because they really care about the individuals.
Work environment allows a lot of freedom to take initiatives and made great impact on improving how things are done. Company culture is super laid back but take the work they do seriously.
This is probably the best company culture and people that I have worked in all of my 10 years of professional career.
Smaller company that is growing fast so it takes some effort to identify and get the right processes in place.
