I have worked here for almost a year and was paid minimum wage for handling the jobs of 3 people. Do not let them take advantage of you. They overwork you and don’t pay you what you deserve for the work you do. Some managers don’t value their employees which is deeply disheartening. I love the office work as we handle merchandise coming in and going out and ringing up sales.

No Chance for advancement, Low Pay

For the Corporate Office side: This place is a half-afloat ghost ship that is waiting to wash ashore. if you do apply here, do it with the mind-set that it is to just get experience and a title to add to your resume and jump ship as soon as possible. You won't get paid market rate, you can't advance above your position unless someone leaves (they like to run literally 1 person to 1-2 job positions w/ no backup).

Typical day involves me standing at a podium for hours a day until guests come in and need assistance in either locating and buying a ring or cleaning a ring they already own. I usually transact at least 10 pieces of merchandise a day and assist in most of the ringing up of sales.

The negativity from mgmt is unlike anything I’ve experienced. Micro management is rampant, training is on computer that has glitches, manager constantly interrupting, trailing you like a hunter! Corporate simply does not know what goes on at locations making it senseless for direction. Commission based pay which starts AFTER 30k paid into. Diamonds are too expensive ,quality questionable,to sell.expensive,policies outdated, managers hound

Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere
|
Robbins Brothers has no structure. It’s all derived from favoritism and who you know. This company lacks in many departments. They offer little to no benefits. They do however, auto enroll you (whether you want it or not) in a 401 k plan that doesn’t match a penny yet charges you fees monthly to save your own money. Medical is expensive (almost double what most companies charge and if you have a family just forget about it). Their pay structure is so complicated that your fooled upon starting. They “guarantee” you a certain amount but really pay you minimum wage plus commissions. The commissions are cut to practically nothing if you discount the item AT ALL. Employees have 0 perks. No free food, no Xmas party, no Xmas gift, zero. They don’t even allow you to drink the coffee or water that they offer to customers.
To sum it all up, they make you think your joining a store that truly cares about you and has a culture. They do not.
