Too Many Chiefs Not Enough Indians
|
Upper Management is deceitful. They do not support on-site staff and do not take responsibility for their mistakes. Day to day can be very confusing and stressful, since multiple people from upper management give instructions and shoot “urgent”emails all day and all night. Upper Management sends staff from sister properties to help “help out” but in actuality to “spy” on other properties. This an ongoing pattern. It’s very strange. Then, a week later a long list of issues that need corrected will be sent from upper management. The job itself is not difficult. The power struggles and drama with upper management cause much confusion and mental stress for on-site staff.

This was a great company to work for and there was room for growth. This job proved to be changeling at times but mostly because the properties kept getting sold while I was working at them. It was hard for management to keep a full staff and to also place staff at different locations.

Disorganized High School Culture

Very disorganized. Very difficult to complete your daily work, meet deadlines and run your property. Emails come from multiple directions without any consideration. 55+ hours per week are not enough to complete work and answer emails. Upper Management is dishonest. Regionals frequently make abrupt decisions then pass the blame. I saw the VP of the company have a manager in tears by making the comment “Welcome back from your crack run”. Be prepared to constantly obtain bids for work that will never get started.

Run! Poor Company Culture!
|
They flaunt the awards for the company, but this is only achieved by certain, biased employees voting over and over. Prejudiced, discriminatory, unsupportive, rigid, unethical and unforgiving from the corporate level to management and even between coworkers. Overly demanding of employees to do 3x the amount of work without any real reward or compensation. They will buy cake for every event or birthday and a $10 Starbucks gift card. Management will use employees under them to take blame for their inaction and laziness when corporate puts pressure on them to perform. The company couldn't care less about retaining employees or their customers. Communication is terrible and lacking. Make sure you can read people's minds, they will expect you to know without communicating. There are a handful of people in corporate who will treat you like a human being, but not worth the daily harassment from other employees. Some employees receive special treatment and leniency because of who they know in the company even when their behavior is completely unacceptable and would be cause for a lawsuit. Don't ever make a mistake! They will make even the smallest mistake into a huge deal if you aren't best drinking or partying friends with corporate. Make sure your skin color, way you dress, how you speak and how many kids you have is what they expect or they will remind you daily that you are not welcome.
