A bit of a circus

Incredible benefits with gym membership included, slight childcare discount, some staff are wonderful and knowledgeable, teachers given freedom to run their classroom as they see fit for the most part
|
It’s such a massive preschool that it is nearly impossible to keep staffed. The staff turnover rate is horrendous, as is the turnover rate among administration. This leads to a lot of inconsistencies with staff members and lack of communication all around. It’s frustrating as a teacher to realize how many shareholders are making decisions for the school that understand absolutely nothing about early childhood education. From my impression the school was undervalued compared to other departments in the JCC. We were hardly connected to the JCC as a whole. It’s also worth mentioning that whenever the teachers request something it’s always “out of the budget” but the salary of the CEO is astronomical. Why is the school not being funded properly?

Great employees, very poor management

Community, diverse events and departments, childcare discounts and gym memberships for employees
|
Upper-level management is running the JCC into the ground and as a result turnover is high and a lot of employees worked in fear of losing their jobs and/or fed up with the ridiculously poor mismanagement of staff and funds.

Horrible environment, worse pay & benefits

There are a few nice and dedicated employees who do their job and do it well.
|
Horrible communication, ever-changing policies, people in upper management who have absolutely no business running a department. Very frustrating work environment.

Great Team, Frustrating Work Environment

I worked with many different departments at the Denver JCC, and found that while the people were kind, team-oriented and well-meaning. Also, the facility itself was pleasant to work in. Being around a community was also great.
|
The institutional red tape and lack of leadership from above paralyzed employees below. Also, questionable allocation of staff provided little confidence in leadership. With that said, much of the leadership at the top has been replaced, which may have caused change more recently.
