Accounting Dept. is awesome!

The CFO is an exuberant leader, and communicates well with the team which helped me get along great with the accounting dept. at Roche. I have been consistently given the opportunity to work on new and unique projects, while also maintaining the core role of my position. I am thankful for everything Roche has given me as a full time student/part-time employee. If you are interested in joining a company with both talent and growth potential, I would say absolutely consider Roche Constructors.

Dishonest. Can't be trusted.

They allowed me full control as a superintendent on a project on a lump sum project that they under bid. When the PM projected a substantial saving that they promised to share with me the laid me off and gave me nothing. Company can't be trusted.

Not worth the money
|
Poor management practices with severe trust issues created a toxic and overall not good work environment. Roche has an aggressive corporate ladder that leads to nowhere with fierce competition among estimators that created hostility. The senior estimators were not around to answer questions or had their door shut when questions did come up. Some employees received special treatment while others were outcast, discriminated against, degraded and humiliated. Estimators were at fault and blamed when management decided to bid projects where subcontractors coverage was less than desirable or unattainable. This company has a very high turnover for a company of its size. There are several families who have equity within this company who will always get the promotion over someone who works longer and harder. There were lots of promisses that were never fulfilled that left a bad taste in my mouth and I would not recommend this place to anyone as there quality of work is less than the industry standard.

A generous severance package was issued after they laid me off, They laid me off shortly before the 2 year benefits would have kicked in, They are heartless and laid me off within weeks of my wife delivering our second child.

Required dress code, gossip, no christmas party, cleanliness around the office, mold growing from water fountain, roof leaking, kegerator with dirty lines.

I am a long-term employee(25 years plus) and would recommend this Company. As employees, we are challenged to do our jobs and given flexibility to do so without micromanaging. I enjoy the fact that many of the employees that I work with have been with the Company for as long as I have or in some cases, even more. But we also have many new employees that are rising within the Company. My job challenges me every week with new issues so my days are busy but there are others to colloborate with and address what may arise. It is an ethical, upstanding Company that has been in business since 1971

the work place and environment was fun and very sociable.
I learned a lot about people and more about how to use teamwork in an everyday situation, the job was also good because it wasn't taxing on the body ( you don't go home at night sore or hating your job) also the most enjoyable part of the job was the people. everyone was/ is very friendly and helpful.

Management is a Joke
|
Management at Roche is a joke. People are promoted into positions because they are a family member or suck up to the owner, no actual skills or experience is required. No one in management has ever been trained on how to deal with employees or employee issues. The culture is like being in high school where everyone talks behind each other's backs, even the owner. Turnover is high here because if they simply don't like you or you stand up for what you believe, they just let go. The only good thing about working here are the benefits. If you believe in working hard, providing new ideas to improve a company, and hope to advance your career then this is not the company for you.
