great opportunity, the weather was harsh at times but it was worth my efforts in order to be productive. Road and weTHER CONDITIONS WERE ALWAYS A GUESSING GAME HOWEVER WE WERE always prepped and prepared. I'd work again for Rock Pile but the company is no longer operating.
My job task also included driving heavy equipment to locations, rigging up and rigging down in order to move on to the next project.

Place went down hill with the oil prices.
|
Management didn't care about the employees. They wanted to get rid of employees but they didn't want to lay off so they made it miserable for everyone. Company was then sold and I didn't work for any of the new owners.

I was only an intern during my time at rock pile energy services. We worked a 2 on 1 off schedule and at the time were day time only operations. However an additional 1.5 hours was spent commuting to and from the job site. The people I worked with were very experienced and extremely qualified.

Started out as a great place to work and had many great people working there.
|
A typical work day was never typical I was the only manager for Wireline in the Midland area who also handled operational set ups, sales, gun loading, meeting, hiring and firing, along with meeting with vendors to order or even get newer products. I learned a lot out of many positions and did anything from being an operator to being the district manager on any given day. The management above the operations manager was very helpful but the operations manager was my first line supervisor. It was a great place to meet many life long friends at the people were great and fun to be around. The hardest part of the job was the unknown the 24/7 job and no days off in more than two years and them still wanting you to do more. The most enjoyable parts were the people that you interact with on a day to day basis.

Good job if you don't mind being away from home. Physically challenging at times and periodically stressful but overall it is not a bad place to work. Benefits were excellent.

Have one of the lowest pay scales in the oilfield and all of management is out for themselves and could care less about the hands unless the hands are their friends.
