Unfortunately , I can not say the same for the new CEO. He and his out of state team, which were all given elevated positions as "management.". They are dysfunctional and sorely disconnected and I'm not sure, actually I'm sure they don't understand what SAIFE is all about and the potential for success. The new CEO sales and marketing "expert" does not collaborate with the engineers and lays off employees when he doesn't know what they have done and we're doing for SAIFE. Their level of understanding of security and networking are second to none. The small company size makes me feel like my personal efforts are more important to the outcome. Decent benefits. The company had a difficult restructuring and owning of some past mistakes. It seems to have weathered the storm. Have been trying to do too much with too few people. This company has the exciting dynamics of a small start up but has the funding and security of a more established company. Every person has a chance to contribute to the success of the company every day. Like many startups, the organization is very flat. Everyone's opinions, ideas and efforts count. Its not always clear how the partnership with the other two companies (Green Zone and Blue Chip) benefits Saife and consequently where all the boundaries are in terms of who does what. I feel like I am learning something new every day, and I am genuinely happy at work. It feels like we are working on too many different things. I wish we could focus more, but understand the business pressures to support some of our partners. It's a very progressive work environment that allows for flexible scheduling, remote work, free snacks, regular free lunch, and has good PTO and vacation benefits. I am excited to work every morning. They place tremendous trust and responsibility in all of the employees, which is a pro and a con. Independent initiative and proactive thinking are definitely required. If you are looking for someone to give you a task list every day to execute this is not the place for you. I am regularly encouraged and required to learn new things and apply them, working with brilliant people makes that really enjoyable. The technology is top-notch as well, although there is still a lot of work to do. Lots of turmoil over the last year, but the company just secured a big round of funding and there was a leadership change. Definitely more confident with Jim, JC, and Ty in charge. That said, they should take more employee input before determining the direction of the company. Salary is just at or below market. Better communication of strategic objectives and sticking to them for extended period of time would be appreciated. Increase accountability for low and mediocre performance. SAIFE is a commitments based company that is incredibly flexible on time management and encourages personal responsibility and accountability. A lot of brilliant minds have come together to make a business in a market that is not the best, with values that are not what is found in your average company. People aren't just a cog in the machine here. It's truly a unique environment and you either fit in here or you don't. Health Insurance is included in employee benefits, but it's not a good service to me. Something changed in 2013 and engineering got sloppy, but it's getting better again. Seems like everyone wants to succeed. Promises are being delayed, and that seems systemic. Even though this review was posted before I was leading the company, and the management team consists of different people now, I\u2019d like to address this review and note what steps we have taken to resolve the issues raised in it.\r\n\r\nWhen I was promoted to President mid last year I took a long and hard look at the company\u2019s history of compensation practices and it was clear that there were issues. Since then, we\u2019ve raised a round of significant and long-term funding, made across the board adjustments in salary to fix imbalances, and are on a set schedule to do regular performance and compensation reviews from this point forward. My goal is to attract and maintain the very best people we can and I fully support the idea of compensating great people well to keep them here and motivated. While we all work hard to meet deadlines, we try to keep those situations to a minimum.
