Primarily the director and his assistant along with two hires who were formally students at the university live for the drama that they create and later frame onto the victim in the situation. The assistant director of admissions is the reason 5 admission counselors quit within 1 school year. She is a toxic, terrible individual. Any time she or anyone within that office was reported to HR the reporter would be the one to face the consequences. HR is in on the toxic environment this office creates. In fact, the HR director is unable to fulfill his duties due to his blatant favoritism of university employees. It's truly disgraceful that an office that's main duty is recruiting students can't even treat their current students or staff or faculty right. This office stirs drama and toxicity across the board and makes it an intensely difficult place to work. They badmouth students and ask students for gossip on other students, staff, and faculty. They project their issues onto others and these "admission counselors" need some sort of mental health counseling and coaching on professionalism. If you are planning on applying to work at this university AVOID THE OFFICE OF ADMISSIONS. The entire university is aware of the toxicity levels within this environment especially that horrid assistant director who makes it a miserable place not just for employees within the office but outside the office as well. I also recommend avoiding HR at all costs to report issues that may arise. The interim director violates the mercy heritage that this university was built on, and should be fired immediately for his mistreatment of students, staff, and faculty. He screams at university employee's students or not and picks sides. Especially when it comes to the office of admissions. He is insubordinate, unprofessional, and emotionally disturbed who also needs some sort of mental health counseling as he so willingly recommends after he degrades mistreated employees shortly after threatening to fire them if they report his unprofessionalism. The university has to do something about this situation, as it is only getting worst. Rather than having major budget cuts from students and faculty who need it the most, consider taking a look into what goes on in this office and with the HR director. Once this university cuts these people out, the university can continue to thrive both ethically and financially. Management does not disseminate information appropriately and does not care about your safety. They play favorites and there is constant harassment and supervisors are rude and insensitive. Everyone is out to get other people fired, there is no leadership and HR is in on all of it. Not a healthy environment for anyone, the president does not care about the employees, the mission, or the sisters of the University. The worst case of a lack of management I have ever seen...constantly blaming and shaming workers for their inept abilities to manage properly. They are very professional and I have had absolutely never anything bad to say about the job. So, everyone had additional responsibilities and there was no additional compensation. My coworkers and had an excellent “next man up” attitude and were great to work with.
