They like to promote from within but only if you’re good at sales. Calls back up to about 10 people in queue at any given moment. Take calls for 4 hours straight, then take lunch (30-45 minutes depending on scheduling). Resume taking calls until 4:45PM: backup in queue rarely drops below 6 callers waiting, meaning there is no rest time without cutting into your call statistics. The contact center is clearly a neglected department by the bank, proven by an overall net zero increase of representative coverage over the last two years, despite the bank boasting tremendous customer growth. Infrastructure leaves much room for improvement; coworkers that remain have complained behind the scenes about increasing stress levels and below adequate pay for a position that REQUIRES a college degree (associates or bachelors.) Inter-department communication is adequate, intra-department communication is poor and even toxic at times. Contact center employees are monitored by screen and audio recording, and call times (average call length, time between calls, etc); can be stressful for those that work slower or try to be thorough with their output. Overall, a very lackluster experience (at least with regard to this department specifically). High stress to low pay ratio, little incentive to go above and beyond as it impacts call times, and being monitored constantly can be unnerving for some. Very difficult to recommend to someone in the current climate.
