Sante Fe was the most well ran college I have ever worked for. Yes, IT and HR generally knew what they were doing. Friendly co-workers. However, they have few fulltime openings and nothing at my skill level.

Been a while since I retired, but during my time at Santa Fe I often thought it to be the best of my 33 years as an educator. My colleagues were super innovative & creative. I always loved the scholarly atmosphere.

Your contract does not get renewed in the summer...they give the courses to their full time staff and pay them overtime...at least in the dept that I

The natural science dept does not give you summer classes so you lose your job. The evaluator dept chair says "oh no I give the summer classes to my full time staff.

Santa Fe College does not value career experience outside of higher education. There is no pay adjustment for experience or degrees obtained while working on behalf of Santa Fe College. Adjunct faculty prepares for and teaches the same courses as full time faculty but get substantially lower pay and benefits.

This is a two year college program, that trains you to work in a zoo. This was the most fun I have ever had. Hands down, the best two years of my life. I would recommend this to anyone seeking employment in the animal field.
