private:scalecomputing https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=723295 Dec 17th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Scale Computing N/A Indianapolis, IN There's plenty of startups in Indy that care more about their employees If you're looking to get your toes wet in the start-up scene, this is an easy place to get into and is fairly low-stress out of the gate. There's a lot of fun people who work here and the environment has a strong startup feel. -fun office environment (pre-covid) with food and booze always available -very easy entry-level roles, quick advancement Look at the review made on October 21st, 2020, then read the review posted on November 12th, 2020. The 2nd post was in direct response to the first, and shows you exactly how people are treated at this company when they show any dissent from management. You're always allowed to contribute, just "as long as it makes sense". It's comical that they posted that. But they have a history of plugging manufactured reviews on here, so that's par for the course. I once was a huge fan of the company and thought that they always did right by their employees. But when they fired a group of folks in summer of 2020, they did so on the 2nd to last day of the month, and health benefits were cut off on the 1st. Contrast that to a different startup (who is much smaller) who paid their employees for 3 months after their release, and had a company-wide initiative to assist those employees with re-employment. In this case, the grass wasn't only greener on the other side, the grass doesn't even exist at Scale. This also happens to be the most white-male dominated company I've ever seen. They don't look at diversity as a strategic advantage, they see it as a box to check for the HR department that doesn't exist. -below market compensation, no 401k match -zero onboarding / training -rapidly approaching unattainable sales quotas -awful middle management with no experience -very few transferrable skills out of this industry -1.0 NEGATIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 NO_OPINION 3.0 2.0 3.0 3.0 3.0 3.0 2.0 723295 Open I would focus on building a dedicated (and revamped) onboarding process. For example, the sales team relies entirely on inbound marketing leads and hasn't the slightest clue how to prospect net-new. You'll first want to bring in some talent that knows how to do this, then you'll want to consider investing in those employees instead of making them fend for themselves with extremely limited tools and resources. I'd also recommend bringing in some better middle management as opposed to promoting someone who has been there the longest. Tribal knowledge isn't hard to acquire, so longevity is useless in this case. What is needed here are true leaders who know how to develop their teams. This has to be the biggest weakness of the company. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 4.0 Apr 16th, 2021 09:06PM Apr 16th, 2021 09:06PM Scale Computing
private:scalecomputing https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=723295 Nov 12th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Scale Computing Sales Engineer Den Bosch, North Brabant, North Brabant Great place to work for people with the right mentality A smaller company where everything can be discussed as long as the discussion holds a value. Also a company where you are invited to give your opinion, and if it makes sense, your opinion is followed up on. Last but not least, a company where your ideas can be implemented in the product (again, if they make sense). I personally am very happy with local leadership in EMEA and am happy to be part of the EMEA team. since people in EMEA are scattered the social part of it might at time be trying. Slack solves a lot of that. Working for such a company requires an attitude and a self sufficiency not everyone might have. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 723295 Open Make sure that when this company grow's you stay as open and accessible as you are right now. 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 2.0 Apr 16th, 2021 09:06PM Apr 16th, 2021 09:06PM Scale Computing
private:scalecomputing https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=723295 Oct 21st, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Scale Computing TSM SALES London, England, England Good product, real market at the edge - Awful EMEA leadership The product is technically brilliant, priced well and wins against the usual suspects (VMWare, Nutanix, etc). The US team are great and Jeff Ready is a man you just want to over-achieve for. A truly approachable and charismatic leader. The Exec leader in EMEA isn't someone you want to achieve for, what he lacks in charisma, he more than makes up for in arrogance. A truly narcissistic bully. Sales people do not last long in the EMEA team. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 1.0 4.0 1.0 723295 Open Review the EMEA management team, he is the reason none of the sales staff last more than 1-2 years. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 1.0 Apr 16th, 2021 09:06PM Apr 16th, 2021 09:06PM Scale Computing

There is a great deal of talent within this company, but there shouldn't be a ceiling due to complacency amongst high-level positions. Scale Computing has all the potential in the world, but we're coming to the point where EVERYONE needs to step up or step away. 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 4.0 Apr 16th, 2021 09:06PM Apr 16th, 2021 09:06PM Scale Computing
private:scalecomputing https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=723295 Oct 9th, 2018 12:00AM Open Open Scale Computing Senior Systems & Sales Engineer Toronto, ON Great place to build a rewarding career! - Open communication to all staff and at all levels - Ideas & feedback is very much encouraged and listened to - Professional and personal development is not only encouraged but rewarded - Everyone is passionate about achieving our goals as a company - Hard work is rewarded in many ways - The company vision and roadmap is available to everyone at any level. At Scale, we work hard and are rewarded extremely well. The management team is full of industry pros who are the best of the best at what they do. The CEO sit's in the main office with everyone else just like every other E-Team member. Feedback is strongly encouraged and is always taken seriously. Everyone wants every member of the team to succeed and guidance is always available if one is willing to accept it. I was extremely shocked to see the negative reviews about Scale and I honestly do think they must be confusing this company with another one. I used to be one of their largest customers in Canada and loved the product, team & culture so much that I had to join them. The passion of the entire company is very contagious - and that's a great thing! - As I do not live in the US, our medical benefits in Canada are different and VERY expensive. That said, it is by far the most comprehensive benefits plan I have ever had - by far! - No retirement plan 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 723295 Open Management at every level is doing an amazing job.
