I was a camp counselor before working at scooters jungle and I loved working with kids. Flexible scheduling during the week and tips are great. They were very discouraging and harsh. They were unable to distinguish the difference between constructive criticism and just straight criticism. I was still young when I worked there and having that be one of my first experiences with a job, I would say I genuinely hope I never have to experience a management team such as that one. For myself, a typical day at work would be a blend of what a lot of the employees do. I manage and get to plan and set up birthday parties and I get to either play with the birthday child and friends or serve them food. If i'm supervising i'm looking to make sure that all the events going on in the building are going in a timely manner and that all guests are satisfied with their staff members service. If i'm working the front desk ill be answering phones and answering questions about our play time or booking parties and taking deposits and payments for mentioned parties. I've learned major communication and customer service skills as this job requires that you be very hands on and customer friendly. My coworkers are excellent and everyone feels we are a family. The hardest part of my job would be helping parents that have difficult demands for their party that may not be in the time frame of the event or just that aren't allowed due to the signed contract. The most enjoyable part would be that i get to actively communicate with a lot of people and that its completely up to me to make their event the best it has ever been.
