The staff is awesome. Talented people work here and we work well together. Opportunity is abundant to get training and move up thru the firm.
|
There has been a lot of changes over the last couple years. Mostly positive, but most people don't like change which makes it difficult.
HOWEVER, since the firm has been able to get rid of negative employees who hung over the firm like a dark cloud of misery... the changes have been warranted.

A feeling of community due to the firm being a small business that's been around for 35 years. This also means that if you need help or there is a problem outside of work, management will do whatever it takes to make sure you're being taken care of and will keep you as an employee. There is a lot of room for autonomy and freedom to get the job done with your own particular set of skills.
|
There is a resistance to change. Antiquated computer/filing systems resembling a rambling bureaucracy which results in poor organization and slow turn around times. Because it's a small business there is no HR department to handle disputes, wasting time and money. It also leaves room for too much cross-talk and in-fighting.

Hire an HR representative and bring computer/filing systems up to par. Even though there is a high level of freedom to get the job done as one sees fit, there still needs to be some sort of unified mission statement that ALL employees adhere to instead of certain individuals doing whatever they want creating an unfair working environment and ultimately alienating other employees.
