The benefits are decent. You get discounts on food you order at the food place there and you can get discounts on other things as well around the park. You can meet some cool people at this job and that makes it a decent place to work. The place is literally a dump. The park has had to shut down rides several times this one year alone just to be able to fix them and while doing it charged full price to people walking in. They would give refunds but only sometimes. This place has sketchy management and makes some really crappy decisions regarding employees. They don't read their own employee manual. They promised two days off at least to their employees and there was a month time where I only got 1 day off and was worked 50 hours a week. They set this as the max halfway through the season and when they did they made sure I was rarely working less than that. They did this with kids who were around 15 years old as well. The place likes to exploit its workers. I did not stop hearing anything about how trashy the park was when I worked here. Don't exploit the workers either. I felt very exploited while working there and it was as if management didn't even care about its employees. The general manager was distant from the rest of the work place and I hardly saw him. The only time I ever saw him was when he passes by and got into work. Otherwise that was it. Be more friendly not only to the community that you are serving and basically exploiting but also to the workers that are working for you. Because the business in dysfunctional and has high turnover, you learn what NOT to do and how NOT to run a business. You have autonomy do help fix the problems, but don't expect your efforts to last longer than the year you work there. If you need a one time summer gig, this place will work. Co-workers are amazing and is the #1 reason most people don't quit after 2 months. Low pay, attention, lack of honesty with front-line employees, long hours in the heat, poor working conditions, lack of consistency. Every year it's somebody new and there's 0, absolutely no training on how to do your job. You learn as you go. It's sad to see all the potential being thrown down the drain because of the owner's get their hands too dirty with things they don't need to be.
