bad pay, bad management, bad ethics
|
With proper management this could have been an extraordinary opportunity and workplace, however lack of people skills, unrealistic expectations, lack of respect and ethics have made it what it is today- a money making endeavor that helps no one. Not the clinicians, nor the parolees who are required to attend. Audits by Corrections are leaked ahead of time allowing management to then coerce employees to falsify records to match billing and requirements by going through the backdoor of the software application used.
Employees are encouraged to gang up on employees who fall out of favor with management which is often.

Worst experience of a job in my entire life
|
This company cares nothing about their employees and if you are not friends with the management or do things even if it is illegal or goes against Therapist ethics and best practices they will fire you on the spot for no reason at all. Take the "at will" firing procedure seriously. Gave everything for this company and they threw me (and 3 other employees) out due to someone with no experience as a manager "not liking us". They care nothing about their clients and lie to them and force you to scare them into staying.

Micromanaging and No Support
|
Amazing growth for me as a person/Clinician. The clientele is challenging but honestly teaches you a lot! Parole, and other stakeholders are amazing and show more support then upper management.
Complete lack of support from the higher ups, and everyone tends to just be another number for them. Staff is burnt out, under paid, and ran out of the company on the regular.
The management in office has changed so many times due to the lack of support, which then makes it hard for other staff to stick around. Micromanaging was out of hand and it didn’t matter how good you were at your job or what kind of rapport you had with those we worked with (both clientele and stakeholders).

Supportive Learning Environment
|
I worked at the Sacramento location for almost a year. During that time, the company underwent some management and staff changes that posed as a challenge. With that being said, the new clinic coordinator did an amazing job of building a strong team and instilling comradery amongst staff. The population can be a challenge to work with but management helps foster an environment full of opportunity for clinical training and growth. Overall, it was a great experience and the leadership there is amazing.

Your Future is Sharper Somewhere Else

Despite calling themselves SHARPER FUTURE, they do not set people up for a sharper future. No annual raises, they often will refuse to give raises. They try to lowball you and get upset when people lowball them. They try to get LCSWs and pay them under $26. That is a joke.
They don't support the staff. Clients are not given an outlook or encourage to follow through with goals, it is like glorified babysitting every week.
The place is depressing. Walls are damaged and have holes. Carpets have huge black stains. Restroom reeks. Phones are almost 15 years old. And there is no sign denoting where the business is, they often even refuse to acknowledge who they are if you happen to walk by on accident. You get greeted by a rude administrative staff.
I saw the entire clinician team quit this year during the middle of the pandemic, if that doesn't scream "there's a problem" then nothing will.

This is a toxic and negative place. Highly unprofessional and highly unethical. HIPAA violations across the board. Take your license and go somewhere else. Protect your license because they won't. They will abuse you and toss you aside.
In the Sacramento Region, there are only 3 staff left from the team a year ago. These 3 staff are all ironically the site supervisors for the 3 locations (Sacramento, Woodland, Marysville). The clinicians have all quit in the past year. There was nothing done to fix problems or even acknowledge there was a problem.

It doesn’t matter how hard you work, the culture is toxic. The turnover is ridiculous because management is clueless, and will do things such as threaten your job security to make you pick up extra shifts. They do not care about your life outside work, and will put staff in dangerous situations for the bottom line.

The work was extremely intense. The demand was unrealistic. Often you do more work than the client. The staff are toxic. You have 2 admin assistants that are loud and will curse like sailors all across the building with doors wide open. One staff who talks down to new
staff rudely. You have a site supervisor who just sits there and says nothing even when its brought up. Then you have upper management micromanages everything. Nothing is ever good enough.
Join at your own risk. And if you don't believe me. Then just ask all the staff how long they have been here. So many staff have quit in the past year. Its practically a new team
This place is bad for your health. Stay away from this toxicity of this place.

The management is more corrupt than the clientele

Worst training experience I have received. There was no end to the number of professional/ethical violations I witnessed asked of staff by the management and director. They prioritize billing the state over actual rehabilitation. If you are looking for competent training in forensics and the chance to make an impact look elsewhere.

The grass is greener on the other side

It started off great. We had a wonderful supervisor with a great supporting staff. The morale was high, the work was well, we were a team. This changed once new management was put in. It became all about $$$. And then there was a huge decrease. Amidst the COVID19 outbreak, we were pressured to work harder than before and continue pushing further with little to no care given regarding our mental or physical health. There was also no incentives in place to ease stressors. We were micromanaged all the time with very strict guidelines regarding when we can clock in and out for the day.
Remember this, how a company treats their employees during a a pandemic speaks volume for their core ethics.
