I have had the pleasure of being with Silverado Memory Care for almost 21 years and to me its more than just a job. Our culture and philosophy is so unique and being able to make a difference for those with dementia is such a reward. This is a company that truly cares about their associates and there is always opportunity for growth. I started off in activities and had the opportunity to be a sales ambassador and into an area director role. I could not and do not want to be at no other company. Understaffed in the caregiving department. Poor staffing and Community Administration is focused on profits and not on patient care. Staffing was insufficient for the cognitive level of the residents. Caregivers were never at a ratio that made it safe for the residents care. The care staff and all the departments did the best they could and cared deeply for the residents. Unfortunately corporate management wouldn’t adapt to better staffing of caregiver to patients. Profits were more important than patients. Surface Level Culture Workplace culture is sold to you from day one, but is surface level only. There is ZERO accountability and many mid-level managers are favored and even protected when infractions are committed. Upper management turns a blind eye when concerns are raised and do not ever address the problem until it becomes a MAJOR concern. Toxic positivity is abundant and anyone who doesn't readily drink the Kool-aid is pushed out. Lastly, if you are not a white, evangelical, conservative Christian, you'll never go anywhere in this company. They only promote those that "fit" the mold.
