After reading the reviews, it became evident that the current staff went on there to write good reviews. Some of the negatiev reviews were removed. Be prepared to dial your life away. Frat house. Heavy metal rock and roll. A mole who sits in his cubicle and writes religious books and tells on everyone.

I felt really bad after reading a couple of the reviews about Simplek12 - i had to write something. I worked for SimpleK12 for over 3 years on their sales team. Ioved it. If it wasn't for my family relocating, I'd still be there. It's a small company, so if you're looking for big and fancy, this isn't your place. But, they care A LOT about their people. Managers are very caring, and it comes from the top - the owners are big family people. Company offers great time off, especially around the holidays. For the most part, Good coworkers (besides when they went on a hiring spree). You'll learn a lot and feel good about helping teachers. Also, they had biscuits and gravy every christmas :) loved that. also other company events throughout the year.

There was a point where they went on a hiring spree trying to grow the sales team too quickly (in my opinion) During this time, they hired what I might call "bad apples". Just not the best fit it turned out. Advice: hire slowly and find the "Right" people to fit the culture. Would love the chance to work from home, seems like a lot of companies are moving in that direction.

You get what you put into the job. Base salary + commission is good and there is an opportunity to raise your base and accelerators if you hit your goals. Culture is really important to management and it's among the best I've been a part of in my career.

It's a small company and that always comes with good and bad depending on what your values are. Cold calling can get tedious but if you've ever done it before you know what that's about already.

More Than Just a Job

I've had the pleasure of working with SimpleK12 for over 5 years, and I truly feel that this company has been a blessing in my life. Flexibility and great work-life balance, which is something that was seriously lacking in my previous job.
Management and coworkers are extremely supportive and are always willing to help out when needed. SimpleK12 is a company with hard working, dedicated individuals, where everyone works together as a team.
Many of my colleagues have been with the company 20+ years, which is a testament to the work environment at SimpleK12. It's a growing company with a family feel. Monthly team building activities, potluck lunches, fantasy football, birthday and holiday celebrations. Work and have fun!
Great pay and benefits, even for part-time employees. I love that the company gives everyone a full week off between Christmas and New Years. They even give their employees a pair of blue bunny slippers to wear around the office!
SimpleK12 has provided many opportunities for personal growth. Working with this company has taken me out of my comfort zone in ways that have enabled me to gain confidence and grow as an individual. SimpleK12 is constantly growing and changing, so that keeps things fresh and exciting!
A great place to work if you want to help others and make a difference in the lives of educators and their students.

A company that cares

This is a small company, yet each department (Sales, Marketing, Admin, IT) has at least one employee who has been there for 15+, or perhaps even 20+ years. That in itself is a testament to what a wonderful workplace SimpleK12 is.
At SimpleK12, employees are valued and appreciated. It's a positive work environment where your ideas and feedback are not only listened to, but encouraged. They do have a direct sales department. While this can be a wonderful job for the right person, it's a difficult job and I believe many of the negative reviews listed here are related to that position specifically (and reviewers who were simply not well-suited for it).
The bottom line: If you want a place where you can blend into the masses and simply survive your work week, biding time until your next paycheck -- go become a cog in one of the many gigantic corporations out there. If you enjoy working hard, getting recognized/rewarded for your work, and are hoping to make a little difference in this big world, you just may belong at SimpleK12.

As with all small companies, there may be some limitations with advancement and career growth over time -- however in my experience, if you prove yourself to be a valuable employee, management is more than happy to work with you as much as they can to make sure you are satisfied with your role at the company.

Your team-mates are wonderful people. There was no one I did not like. Family company. Owners come off as very nice caring people. Employees have been there 5+ years or less than 4 months. Going through a growth spurt but that is where the cons come in.

When hired you must sign 10 papers saying you are aware this is a 90 trial and you can be let go anytime. Never could figure out why since my experienced co-workers were the best source of training but you are not allowed to ask them for any help at all. They think it's a silly rule too and help when they see you struggling but must sneak, whisper and look over their shoulder not to get caught. You are EXTREMELY micro-managed so if you can't stand someone standing over you better reconsider. Call block times are strictly adhered to so go to the bathroom first or you might get called out. L
If you manage (unlikely) to make it to 90 days, it's a long sales cycles due to government funding so you don't make money as at all. 3 of us started and we all left either because could not stand the micro-managing or because tired of being told you were wrong for not keeping busy people on the phone and asking 50 more questions even when you hear verbal clues they want to hang up. Regardless of your sales style, it's their way or the highway so you may only get 2 weeks if you can't adapt fast enough. Not stable employment by any means and they make it clear you will be let go for any infraction. Outlook for company not good in my opinion because far behind where they should be YTD.

President and manager need to get on same page. Manager teaches you one way and then Prez hears you and say it's wrong. You tell her it was what you were taught and she says YOU are wrong and mis-understood. Training ineffective so let new employees plug in and listen to seasoned employees conversation. Respect others selling style and don't try and force them to be programmed robots. Get rid of the 10 pages we must sign about all the ways you will fire them. One should suffice​. There are no areas to be promoted to. Too small if a company. Your strategy of throwing sales people to wall until something sticks is ineffective. Invest extra time/effort if you find one that cares enough to show up and expresses a desire to stay. If you keep expressing you don't have be time for them, they won't have time for you.

Overall, I didn't have much to complain about. As a smaller company, there were some salary limitations and not many advancement opportunities...but you will gain wonderful work experience that can translate later in your career! More vacation days would also have been great, but you need to pay your dues and stay at the company longer to qualify for any extra weeks. In general, I truly had a wonderful experience working for SimpleK12.

Great little company

I worked in sales until, for other reasons, I had to leave the area. The senior managers are helpful, the company offers lots of perks and time off, and there's a feeling of family. Customers loved the product too.

Not many advancement chances, but guess that's true in many smaller companies.
