The people at Smart are extremely kind and supportive and everybody is always happy to lend a helping hand. Additionally, the compensation and benefits are competitive for the industry. The Supply & Demand teams compliment each other and work together well.

Being a global company, we rely heavily on our team that is headquartered in Paris. The NYC team has more of a 'startup' vibe and work ethic, but sometimes it is difficult to move projects forward as quickly as we would like to because of our need to rely on external teams that are not quite as agile.

I started off as a consultant, so I got a good look at the company from the inside before going full time. After a few weeks on the job, I fell in love with the company and mostly with the people in the New York office. Employees from top to bottom are intelligent, caring, funny, diverse, interesting, empowered, and thoughtful.
The actual day-to-day work is for folks who like to fight for a challenger brand with a proven product - a positive force binding teams closer together. The company has been around for 20 years, so all the negative trappings of a startup are gone. But there's still a real sense that what you do matters and as an employee you can effect change where there's an opportunity for improvements / growth.
Smart leadership spends a lot of time and resources on communicating with all employees, sharing vision, setting up educational resources, and ensuring we're finding ways to grow personally and professionally.

While Smart's NYC office has become HQ2 for the company, there's still a lot of collaborating with our Paris HQ - so you can expect very busy mornings that can sometimes start earlier than you would like.
