Potential to be great...

They have a great product and a great app. Very fun and original idea. Seems like people care about each other there.
|
Management doesn't actually manage. They don't help there employees. Lower level management tries but doesn't have the experience and the executives don't try.

Two face management at its finest

A executive team you can count on to do anything they can to undermine your work.
A CEO who is oblivious to his surroundings.
A place where you can see the "favorites" in every department with up most clarity.
Pebble ice machine was nice I guess.

Where to begin. A startup that doesn't know where it is and where its going. If your idea isn't inline with Toms "culture cult" you are quick to be shot down. While on the other hand if you are a favorite every word you speak is prophecy. Earning trust with anyone is impossible with in the company. More back stabbing that a horror movie. Each and every day there was the overwhelming thought of being fired. While every executive preaches we love our people and our culture and we will do anything to keep you! Its a different story when profits go down and the executives scramble to fire people to please the investors and keep there personal paychecks fat. Management will do anything to keep there paychecks. You will never have a true personal bond with the executive team because to them you are nothing but a dollar sign.

Awful place with poor culture

I can't think of any pros.

What a terrible place to work at! In the last 1 year, so many people got fired and many had left the company on their own. Tom, the CEO, fires people like piece of garbage if you don't fit his culture needs or feed his ego. Most of the people who work at Social Dental are in their early twenties. All they do is talk all day, listen to music, take selfie pictures with each other, play games and abuse Tom's money by not doing anything. Yet, he doesn't care and continues to pay them. Talented people don't stay at Social Dental very long. The minute they realize they can get paid more elsewhere and be treated with respect, they leave the company. Social Dental is clearly lacking structure and has zero employee appreciation. Everyone is talking bad about the CEO behind his back. Unfortunately, he just doesn't know it.

Wonderful Experience

Social Dental has an unbeatable culture that really pushes people to better themselves in any way possible. Lots of encouragement and morale boosting goes on every day. A lot of transparency and a very fast growing company.
|
It is a very young work environment, the average employee age is mid twenties. Along with this there are definitely things that need to be improved such as pushing past the startup stage of the company and other things that simply come with a younger employee base.

Culture and money are some of the best reasons to work here. Everyone is awesome growing pains for sure but it's worth it.
