Job Description
Probably the best career and life experience I could have ever had. Was very exciting working for a start up and I learned so much over a 3 year period.
Small company, so need to be adaptable and good with uncertainty.

Great company, great benefits
This is a small, relatively young company which means there are tons of potential growth opportunities. You can learn as much as you are willing to, working with a tight crew and lots of collaboration between departments. The benefits are unmatched in any job I've heard of. Management is approachable and able to be flexible and creative to help you meet your goals.
Because it is such a small organization, there is a lot of crossover in terms of job duties. A lot of tasks that don't really seem to match your job description might fall on your desk because there is not a person or department specifically designated to handle them.

Beware
Benefits package. perks, and educational reimbursements.
Beware. This really is career catfishing at it's best. The people that interview you are charming and convincing that working for Soylent is great. They give you this whole speech about the culture and the work/home life balance--- IT IS ALL A LIE. Give it a month or less and you will realize the huge mistake you made. The CEO and the higher ups are not to be trusted. You are micromanaged every second of the day. Get ready to not be trained whatsoever. Get ready to log your tasks daily and then be questioned on it. Get ready to not have life outside of work and expected to be available nights and weekends. Get ready to be told by your managers that you are doing a great job only to be let go or to be put on probation. Turn over always happens every 6 months within every department. Soylent will say all the negative reviews just bitter/ disgruntled employees and that is far from the truth. Soylent has a huge culture issue and is run by people who instill fear in its employees. This was the worst career move I made. RUN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF THIS PLACE. I BEG YOU DO NOT DO IT. Oh! And they knowingly send expired product to customers. Go look at the reddit posts. Consumers have caught on yet Soylent still chooses to willingly send it.

Great company
Great company for overall career development. They have an excellent benefits package, provide the flexibility to work from home, and part of a high growth company which has an amazing product in the marketplace.
Working from home can be a challenge at times, but manageable.

Fully remote work with excellent benefits
Toxic work culture with a total fire breathing dragon at the helm. Employee turnover is close to 100% every 6 months. Don’t ever expect to have a personal life- you won’t have one working here. Leadership is about nurturing your people, not tearing them down.

Outstanding Company Culture
I enjoyed working here. Management was always open to questions and receptive to feedback. The culture was professional while also remaining personable. The flexibility of the working schedule was a highlight as well!
There were times where my tasks overlapped with other departments and I wasn’t always clear on where my job ended and another began.

Driven Management, Executing with Purpose and a Desire to Learn
Culture is performance-based.
OK to question the normal.
Feedback both up and down is welcome and encouraged.
Hard work and "outside the box" thinking is rewarded.
Small team, wear many hats and get a lot accomplished.
Prepare to be challenged.
Employees across multiple time zones can create longer hours.

You have to work hard, but it is a great company with great people.
The mission of the company is great and the give back component is not fake - meaning we put our money where our mouth is and help a lot of people. Also it is clear that the leadership cares about the people who work here. The benefits are insane, time off is unlimited, and because the team is fully remote there is a lot of flexibility. HOWEVER you do have work hard and stay on top of your obligations.
People who are unsuccessful at Soylent seem to be people who are looking to clock in and clock out. Also this place requires you to take ownership of of your work and when a broad idea is dropped you need to take the nugget and figure it out on your own. So if you aren't up for that or want a lot of direction then it may not be the place for you.
