I have been employed with Sparboe for over 3 years, and while it has had it's ups and downs (like all jobs), I'm very thankful. Negative co-workers say nice things to your face and then talk about you behind your back to other employees. Long term employees set you up for failure. Complicated operating system was a detriment to productivity. Huge cost savings initiative led to position eliminations. I was told hours were 7am to 3pm. That was a lie because we work till 6:30 or later every night. They favor Spanish speaking people also. They promote them faster and show them a lot of favoritism. Management doesn’t seem to care about family work life balance like they claim to. The hours were long most days. The job is very gross. The shift messes up life outside of work. Not enough help for the shift I worked. Rude, incompetent co workers filled with drama;Cussing, and yelling was part of it. The hours and shift itself are not something any normal person would do for several years or longer. There is no advancing with the shift I worked. There are better opportunities out there that are less back breaking with similar pay. Working with toxic chemicals on a daily basis, and getting sick a lot is not great long term. The only thing that keeps people there is the money, not the job. The job sucks. Management could care less too. I'm not the only one that feels that way. Many people have come and gone in this position. Full timers, part timers, and even temps. That job isn't worth the stress. The air conditioning system didn't work well. Machines are not always in good working order. People don't always listen to the supervisor. Not everyone shows up when they are supposed to. Some don't stay and help clean at the end of the day.
