private:spatialkey-2 https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1311219 May 22nd, 2017 12:00AM Open Open SpatialKey Hard Work & Great People SpatialKey is a company full of smart people that are working to solve some hard problems and at the same time, they really care about their employees and work-life balance. One reason the remote team works is that everyone is remote so people understand and get it. You are not the odd man out while everyone is back at the office making decisions. Sometimes I do miss seeing people every day, but not the commute. There have been some growing pains with some of the different processes but that is working itself out and things are running a lot smoother now. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 1311219 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 4.0 Apr 22nd, 2021 04:27PM Apr 22nd, 2021 04:27PM SpatialKey Financial Services
private:spatialkey-2 https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1311219 May 19th, 2017 12:00AM Open Open SpatialKey The place to be if you're a self-starter and entrepreneurial at heart The full-time work-from-home environment enables employees to stay focused and work smart, all while truly maintaining a work/life balance (which is often a myth among many companies who promise it). Everyone at SpatialKey is devoted to their work, whether that's developing front-end software, leading server architecture, or marketing the product - everyone has a purpose and fully embraces it with enthusiasm, so there's very little feeling of wasting time or spinning wheels. There's a lot of transparency at this company between peers, and from executive leadership to the rest of the company, which is refreshing after working in environments where there's a lot of guessing and office politics at play. There's a true sense of autonomy as an employee here, and that can be excellent for some, and not great for others who prefer more structure. In my case, I embrace the feeling of entrepreneurship and welcome the challenge of making decisions on my own, rather than having a boss tell me what to do all the time. SpatialKey is full of collaboration, a division of responsibility, and the expectation that people are confident in what they do and are unafraid to speak their minds about what will move the business forward. Certainly counter to the more structured, corporate cultures that I've worked at in the past, which weren't a great fit for my personality. I also love the unlimited PTO policy, the flexibility in work hours, and the ability to take time off for family/personal life and experience no judgment from management. It's amazing to work at a company where I'm treated as an adult and not micromanaged. Growing pains are expected and obvious at times. There are some first-time managers who are actively learning how to lead, and that can be frustrating at times because things are often communicated, changed, and then communicated again, sometimes causing confusion. There's a lot of change going on in this company, and that can certainly be a con if you're a person who appreciates a lot of consistency and structure. Executive leadership is often trying to find their footing, making it difficult for there to be clarity on where we're headed. Everyone is aware of this, though, and there are clear steps being taken to consistently improve. I've noticed that things I would label as cons don't really stick around because the nature of everyone who works here is to rise to challenges, learn, and improve. Sometimes, the remote nature of the team can be tough with communicating things consistently, but everyone is aware of this and makes regular efforts to solve it because we deeply value our remote work culture. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 4.0 1311219 Open Continue to maintain transparency with the staff - the open lines of communication are what keep the team cohesive (something that is extra challenging here given everyone is remote). Continue to offer new managers training and support. Continue to support the full-time work-from-home structure - it's a huge part of our success and one of the main things that make SpatialKey such an amazing place to work. 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 0.0 Apr 22nd, 2021 04:27PM Apr 22nd, 2021 04:27PM SpatialKey Financial Services

Every level within the company is continually inspecting and adapting in order to grow and support everyone. private:spatialkey-2 https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1311219 Feb 21st, 2017 12:00AM Open Open SpatialKey Small company experiencing growing pains SpatialKey is a 100% work from home company. This provides a unique corporate culture and affords a generous work-life balance. Sharp CEO. Interesting products and both domestic and international customers. Inexperienced middle managers across departments create unnecessary tension with overreactions to critiques, suggestions, or conflict. Demonstrated inconsistent support of the open vacation policy in some departments. This engineering-driven company is incredibly talented, but is a bit too internally focused. 0.0 NEUTRAL 4.0 3.0 4.0 3.0 2.0 2.0 3.0 1311219 Open The vision for the company culture is inspiring, but is not enough to create high-performing outcomes alone.
