Convenient Job
This job is fairly easy, it’s remote & flexible
Not a lot of room for advancement. Pay is not that great, especially if you get hired through an3rd party such as five star call centers.

What a clown show
I have no idea how they’re able to attract and retain talent, but there’s a lot of smart, kind individuals working here.
Toxic, inept, and utterly useless Human Resources team, the executives have no vision or ability to execute, and everything they promote regarding culture is lip service.
Huge red flags on day 1. Run away.

Incompetent leadership - Not a good place to work
Honestly, it starts off great and they promise a ton of things as well as great benefits. Thats it.
As someone who worked here previously, heed my warning and do not work here. This is the prototypical looks good on the outside but will cause you stress, anxiety, and anger internally. This is the most incompetent leadership group I've ever observed and worked with in my career. They will make decisions and then do the complete opposite 6 months later. I've seen 2 executives let go within a year. I've seen this company completely dismantle entire areas (Data Science) because they failed to realize their investment didn't work and put multiple people out of a job, rather than finding a solution. I've seen them let employees go if they express any issues within the company or their team. I've also heard lies as to why an employee is no longer there. SpotHero champions trust, communication, and psychological safety however it is anything but. Any conversation you have about your role, career, and relationships will be expressed to others and potentially be used against you should you want to move up the career ladder. I can't stress enough how much the leadership at SpotHero (aside from a few good seeds) is unorganized, indecisive, and emotional with their decision-making. SpotHero is not a place worth working if you value your mental health. Do not express any concern to the People team, they don't have your best interest at heart.

Certain changes would definitely benefit the company. A lot of current employees I speak with have 0 trust in management or C-level. Sooner or later you're going to lose the key people that make the company tick and it will be extremely hard to replace, especially when trust keeps getting broken.

Flatlined experience
Work is challenging in that you’re creating your own problems, which you have to solve. This can be good when you closing product gaps but bad when you’re just creating work just to create work. Work from home if you’re not near an office is nice. Holiday parties are super fun
There used to be a healthy work life balance, but a lot of times work is not evenly distributed, and the highest performers get the brunt of the work, but then are passed up for promotions/raises

However, to sidebar all the above, I’ve let this marinate for a few days now and it still is not sitting right with me. We had an all company meeting which we do every quarter where we discuss KPIs and our company goals, however this time the CEO started by discussing the unrest between Israel and Palestine. More so, blatantly defending Israel I’m assuming due to his personal, religious background. Not only was bringing this up during an all company meeting wildly inappropriate, it also alienated a good chunk of people. Based on the meeting chat going quiet, I believe I’m not the only one who felt this way. The conflict is truly way more complex than an individual’s opinion on it, but there was a bit of misinformation spoken and that leads to fear mongering and prejudice. Sorry but missed the Mark there.

Proceed with care when contemplating this employer, unless you need a job
1. Strong Tech Stack: SpotHero boasts an impressive tech stack that significantly enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of work. It's a great asset for the company and its employees. 2. Healthy Work-Life Balance: The company promotes a positive work-life balance, allowing employees to maintain a healthy equilibrium between their professional and personal lives. 3. Supportive Colleagues: One of the highlights of working at SpotHero is the wonderful and kind people you get to collaborate with. The supportive and friendly atmosphere makes the workplace enjoyable and fosters a sense of teamwork.
1. Lack of Leadership Strategy: The absence of a clear leadership strategy at the C-level (and department heads as well) is a significant challenge. There is a noticeable lack of direction and guidance from top executives (VP and higher), which is the most critical issue facing the company. Without well-defined and sensible goals, teams are often left with the pressure to create direction from scratch. 2. Cost-Cutting Measures: The company appears to be cost-conscious by reducing personnel, both at the leadership and individual contributor levels. 3. Promotion Freeze: There is currently a freeze on promotions, which has impacted career progression opportunities for employees.

I believe that SpotHero would benefit from bringing in seasoned C-level executives who can contribute valuable insights and ideas. Currently, there seems to be an over reliance on individual contributors (ICs) to drive decision-making. Also, it's important for the CEO to take a more active role in shaping the company's strategy and ensuring it aligns cohesively. The company would greatly benefit from a more strategic and well-defined direction.

There wasn't any really lol the office was cool I guess and the kitchen was always stocked
They dont really care about the customer heros and you are treated as such. You get in trouble for calling out even if you're sick and people would show up to work sick constantly because of it, it was disgusting. Mind you, this was when covid just started to happen lol. The pay is crazy, like bottom-of-the-barrel bad. A lot of work (and constant) for a terrible check
