Great starting point for a career in Copy, Design, Sales, or Client Management. The environment was always casual and light, work was easy and mostly enjoyable, and Management were easy to approach.
HR’s location in Amsterdam made them hard to get in contact with, but once they were reached they were always quick to respond.

They pay is below average

The pay is below average and you don't get the benefits of a regular employee. I think that should be a reason the pay of a freelancer must be higher than the average. And though you get a lower pay, the deadlines are very strict that you don't get your work in on time, you won't get paid.

Unreasonable deadlines

The key thing I disliked about this workplace was unreasonable deadlines that put a lot of pressure on me and made me feel stressed all the time. The stress took on my health, and I decided to look for another job. Be aware of it before you join.

The management expects you to accommodate every need of the clients. My schedule was mostly very tight, and I was on my toes most of the times as well. They should plan better and give more value to employees.

Bunch of incompetent managers
|
Hiring process is questionable. HR tend to put a lot of weight on a person's CV and their past accomplishments when hiring for senior positions. Too little consideration is put into thinking about how the person will perform, especially if they are changing industries or roles. Hence, you end up with a whole bunch of incompetent managers on top who are focused on playing politics instead of delivering results to hold onto their positions. They would also only hire people less capable than them, for fear of being replaced.

Incompetent and uncaring management
|
Management, moral, pay, training, Human Resources. HR team does not care and will not help you voice out your problem. There are no adequate trainings here for your career development. Pay is massively downhill. Not enough to make a living. Not comparable to all the work you have. Low morale because of all that problem and lack of support coming from the root cause of all these problems, the management. All these problems came from management that is incompetent and only care about earning money.

Employees slowly lose their morale
|
The work here never ends, and I could say that it's a high-stress work environment. Aside from that, there is a lot of favoritism in this company. Employees who work hard get no appreciation while employees who slack off don't get reprimanded. This kind of bias negatively impacts people and affects their productivity. Employees slowly lose their morale until they finally decide to just quit.

The workplace is diverse, you'll meet people from different background.

The learning curve here might seem exciting initially, but when they pressurize you more and more, you will start hating your job as I did. The management expectations grow with time, and you have to deal with that pressure daily. It's suffocating!
