Not worth it.

Terrible workplace culture and toxic work environment. The pace is hectic and intense because there is no strategy, vision, or direction. Springboard's problems are similar to many small nonprofits - founder is still running the organization after 20 years, board does not serve as an effective check and doesn't sufficiently turnover, poor work environment (6 people in an 10X12 room) because I don't want to spend money on space, no effective systems or processes because "I don't have time," and poor public presentation (website, logo, message) because "I don't care." Yes, "I" because it's not about what furthers the organization but what the president cares about. They are not completely aligned. What separates Springboard is how they manage or control for these challenges: low trust (everyone has the same email password and reads everyone's emails regularly), avoidance of problems (everyone constantly works around the president as a survival tactic) and bullying is the main tactic the president uses to "motivate" the team. The network is amazing, but they won't remember "the staff" and everyone is connected to the president and the board, not the team (we never use the word "team" btw). The employee turnover is problematic with 5 people leaving in one year (it's a 5-7 person team...) and few people staying long term. If you believe in your self-worth and won't tolerate being undervalued and undermined, then this is not a healthy workplace for you.

Physical work environment, toxic culture, mean boss that bullies people via snark quips, no professional development, quantity over quality in work product, work through lunch, no flexible work (bc of trust, not bc it isn't easily done), people read your email unapologetically

Worse Workplace ever
|
Extremely hostile management and unpleasant workplace. Workload and work hours that are totally out of balance. Zero flexibility on work schedule or location. Leadership is verbally abusive and constantly disrespectful. Goals, priorities, tasks and expectations always change making it impossible to get into a rhythm.
