1) From what I've seen, the team is no different than any SaaS company; everyone has to be hardworking, dedicated, and passionate about what they do. The senior teams throughout the US, LATAM, and Brazil are all extraordinarily hardworking, and everyone gives 100% to make the product better for our customers. 2) Extreme flexibility with the working environment. 3) The team is always pushing the boundaries on what can be done to be the best in the industry. 4) Spring cares about the partnership with its customers, which is nice considering most SaaS companies view customers as account numbers.

Just as mentioned above, working for a SaaS company is a lot of work and dedication. You have to work hard to make a difference, and sometimes that's outside of "typical" working hours. I wouldn't say that's a "con," but it's something that comes with the territory.

Extremely toxic culture; Board lost hope about the company just wants to sell it but no one wants to buy it

Worst culture I ever saw. Very toxic. People just want to blame each other instead of fixing things. Fights are constant and whoever is better at diffusing blame wins. If you don't have an argument, another option is to scream and insult people behind their backs.
The level of politics is unbelievable for a company with ~100 employees. Not a single decision is made based on data or technical arguments. It's always on backchannels. Every meeting with the management that you join will have people talking bad things about whoever it´s not there.
When they have a bad year (which is every year in Spring) the only solution they have is to fire more people and put pressure on employees to work overtime.
If your department is making mistakes you don't really have to worry about it as long as you can blame someone else. Ideally some other department or someone who was recently fired (there´s constant supply for that). As long as you are good at bullshiting senior management you'll be safe.
No one believes in the company anymore, not even the board of the senior managers. They just want to keep milking a dead cow and hopes to make some money if the company is ever sold.
The tech is old and Spring can't improve because they don´t have a long term vision. They will do whatever one of the big customer is asking. The product team doesn't have any autonomy and the roadmap is a joke. Sales and operations will blame the product for all kinds of problems but will be the first one to block any real product improvement.

Decent pay... the only mechanism they have to make people stay is throwing money at them.

Spring has already been a good place once, but then a lot of shifting happened and now we have people that have no experience occupying roles of Manager and Vice President just because they are old in the company. Some of these "leaders" just worked at Spring for their entire lives.
These shouldn't be much of a problem if this group were more open-headed (we have competent developers), but they actually think that they know what they are doing and that they are the only ones capable of making right decisions. They want to have complete control over the development process and every technical decision must pass through them for approval.
Innovation isn't encouraged at all... if you deliver something cool for the company but the idea didn't come from this group, this means that you could be doing something more relevant with your time (something that they want).
Well, I don't even have to say that the morale of our teams are very low, right?
If you're still considering joining Spring, here are some other facts:
- Are you expecting to work with some Agile methodology like Scrum? Forget it, they really believe in Waterfall. They want to tell you what to build and how to do it. You won't have any control over what you're doing. The developers here reached a level of demotivation where they don't care anymore, they just do what they are told.
- Do you want to work with new technologies and grow as a professional? Not the right place. We only work with outdated and proprietary tech, Spring seeks to reinvent the wheel at every opportunity.
- Here you won't be able to just do your work, you will have to fight against development environments and build servers.
Besides all of that, we have the politics... one "leader" trying to take the best over the other. Tasks being pushed from one place to another because no one wants to assume it (we have the soap culture here, whoever is more slippery takes the best).
There is more, but I will stop here.
