This place is terrible to work at.
There are a lot of boundaries you have to place not only with the patients, but with staff. They supervisors will text you almost every off day to ask you to come in and work overtime, which I believe is a little excessive. Once in a while is Ok, but people have lives and do not want to constantly think about work. They will also quickly low census you because they are too cheap. The CEO barely does anything productive besides telling staff not to wear certain color jackets and bring cans to work as if the hospital is not falling apart for many other reasons. Policys are not followed by all staff which makes it annoying to work with patients who have had different policies followed and not followed. Administration also rewards patients for behavioral issues just to prevent codes, which is hard for RN’s and PCA’s eno actually have to work these patients who are now taught that if they cause a ruckus, they will get anything they want. A hospital cannot function if a patient thinks they run it. PCA’s are not paid enough for the things they ask us to do. Doctors do not communicate enough nor meet all patients, which AGAIN the consequences of that are delt with nurses and techs. The food the patients eat is not worth the thousands of dollars they pay. The care only consists of group therapies which I don’t think is fully productive. Supervisors are annoying as well. Turnover rate is high, supervisors are leaving, PCA’s are leaving, RN’s are leaving, and even housecleaning complains. The hospital is understaffed. There is also unnecessary drama which is embarrassing because most people who work here are grown adults.
FUTURE EMPLOYEES: the reviews are bad for a reason use this job as a temporary stepping stone or do not accept or apply for the job at all. we might be understaffed but I don’t care about the state of hospital, I’m only here to get paid and take care of patients.
PATIENTS: believe the bad reviews on google and bad reviews from staff themselves. it is not our fault the hospital is bad. always blame admin.

Increase wages to market and support staff for their complaints/needs. Inpatient is where the majority of the money is being made for the company, try to show that both day and night make a difference and change lives. Hire security for staff so they do not become harmed in patient's psychotic breaks.
