Abysmal leadership
|
I quit recently due to the leadership at Mesa Springs. The clear preferential treatment was absolutely repugnant. When talking to “leadership” over this they gaslit me. Told me I was not seeing what I was clearly seeing (another employee wearing what they were not suppose to while getting on to me for something almost similar). I have never seen leadership this unprofessional in all my years.

This is a good stepping stone for a new graduate in healthcare or social services. The work life balance is ok. The pay is great. Management is horrible from the supervisor all the way to the CEO. Everyone is overworked and understaffed.

Use to be a great place to work
|
I loved my position when I first started. They promoted a coworker to a supervisor position. She was very hard to work with or talk to. There is no training and before she became a supervisor, questions were encouraged. Once she was promoted, she would belittle you for your questions, stating “you should know this”. She was a overbearing, workaholic, that didn’t just work this job, but also slept and ate it as well and expected us to do the same (I will not). Overload of emails and tasks. Overload of meetings after meetings even when they didn’t pertain to you. Just IMPOSSIBLE! Especially given, we make our numbers every month before her promotion. That ALONE def made this a STRESSFUL work environment!

PCA’s should RUN!
|
Management is horrible. Nurses at my facility aren’t any better. You get worked to death and when you have to call off for personal reasons, they don’t care. They even started writing up employees for trash not being taken out of we are too busy during our shift to get to it, instead of the next shift just doing it. Housekeeping is never there. PCA’s are expected to be security guards, housekeepers, babysitters and everything else with very little pay! Not even including the fact at my facility you only get a raise every 3 years (if they think you deserve it). Very horrible and toxic place to work.

Felt unethical and chaotic

There were constant change-overs of management during my time there, therapists were kind of on their own. They had the CFO join therapeutic treatment team meetings and encourage financial agendas that did not feel appropriate or sensitive to individual patients' care.

Administration team members are mostly friends. They pick on people until they force them to leave or fire them. It’s still a couple of good ones there. Once it’s a wash and fresh start . Starting with Administration first you’ll see the hospital thrive again!

Honestly, it’s the same disappointing atmosphere as everywhere else. Only care about money and not patients or employees. This place is mid-pay compared to other hospitals around but they’ve made it clear no raises for 3 years…… I was glad to leave.
