A high-octane, small SF tech company with world-class engineers and a solid management team. One employee can really make a big impact here (unlike large firms I have worked for in the past). Very exciting prospects for the future. "Work-from-home Thursday's" is part of the company's easy-going but hard working culture. Great downtown SF location near BART (next to Twitter) too.

Increase marketing efforts. SQLstream technology runs circles around others in the space but isn't as well known. Continue to be highly selective about new hires. As stated above, one person can really have an influence here and that is a two-edged sword.

A great place to work as a software developer. The eng. team is experienced and smart.
It's a totally hands on job where each person has the creative space to solve problems his or her own way. The co. is still small, so there is no hierarchy and no politics.

the downside is the lack of big co. perqs.
Priorities can change quickly -- that's exciting but not for everyone.

Very transparent company: treats all employees with respect and shares details of customer, partner and product progress. Profitable and growing fast - which is pretty rare in start-ups. Some of the strongest reference partners you could hope for.

Tends to not waste money, so don't expect particularly flashy offices, but has a great central location close to Twitter, Uber and Dolby Labs.

As a contractor, it is seldom to find a place where stepping outside the task list with suggestions and one-person-projects is not shunned, but encouraged. I've been working here for over 3 years, and almost every proposal I made was carefully considered, refined, then supported into execution.
The team is ridiculously smart and incredibly business-driven (as opposed to ego-driven), which makes it very easy to integrate, collaborate, and talk to since everyone's door—including the CEO's—is always open.
Last, but not least, the product is very easy to get behind and believe in. It's amazing to be working on something that's is already changing the face of the world (big words, I know, but let's give Caesar what belongs to Caesar).

This is still a start-up environment, which means the processes are fluid and changing ad-hoc according to priorities, team architectures, and availability of resources. For someone used to corporate structures, the "grab it and run with it" model might be difficult to navigate at times.
