Be fair to your employees, not just their "family"

Will help you learn the fundamentals of agency working, and a good "in" to the city . Strong internship programs. Feel-good clients and creative work environment.

Compensation is not competitive whatsoever, borderline exploitative. "Family" culture is used to excuse not providing other regular benefits or formal structure (there is no real HR department). Inappropriate comments made about employees or their clothing is made under the guise of being "real," especially when it comes from company leadership. Leadership can bully you into submission if you're not a strong personality.

You'll be hard pressed to find another company that feels as much like a family as Squeaky does. The agency may be small, but there's a lot of personality to go around.
|
It is a bit difficult to get to with not much nearby, but that will soon change with Hudson Yards.

The company culture is really wonderful, like family, and the leaders of the company place a real emphasis on nurturing talent over the long term. Quite a few people there started out as interns or in junior positions, only to grow into more senior roles. The team is diverse, fun and hard-working.

Salary in some cases is not always the most competitive, but the company culture and the emphasis on growing people's skillsets is a huge plus.

It is an exciting environment with free flowing ideas. Being a small agency you get to experience a lot of different aspects of the business and you have opportunities to work on a lot of diverse projects. There is not a lot of separation between management and employees. Everyone's ideas get heard and everyone has a chance to contribute.

The music gets a little loud sometimes. Short deadlines mean long hours whether you like it or not.
