The firm has a great client list - everyone from the NHS, to Innovate UK and the Arts Council, so there's room to have a varied experience. They're open to new ideas and work hard to provide a breadth of work to people at all grades. Management (at office and firm level) are approachable and friendly - the firm is small enough to feel like a community, but big enough to always have interesting work for everyone to muck in on!

Training is very good, but can be unstructured and led through 'doing' or 'asking'. Most colleagues are open to help and support at all times, so this isn't a major issue. As with all consultancy businesses, workload comes and goes so there can be 'pinch points' occasionally - senior colleagues do their best to ensure they take the heat for these where possible.

Interesting projects, working on multiple projects develops and enhances skills in research and analysis.
|
Hierarchical structure (some directors were so lazy, they would let consultants do all the work but would offer them no acknowledgement when the final report was written), awful office atmosphere (passive aggression), management style that leaves little to be desired (in my experience it was not an encouraging style, but a critical, accusatory approach), snobbish atmosphere. No time taken to develop staff.
